Hi I live in Australia and I have selected my embassy as Sydney Australia but my visa is going to expire next month. So i am going to change my mailing address and moving back to India so my step two will keep continue or it will start from beginning. Please help

Hey! What is your time line like?

I would advice against changing your VO if that is possible.. It will delay your process significantly!

You could try and see if this will work:
1)Fly back to India then on your passport.
2)Change your address on the website to that of a trusted friends.
3)When your PPR comes in, courier your passport to either that friend in Australia or directly to the VO - which ever possible (If the VOs address is a locked bag address then you will have to courier it to your friend).
4) Then your PR comes through the VO will send the PP back to your friend who can then courier it to you

Good luck

hi hm82,
i (PA) have been to canada on visitor visa after applying for PR .the chances of rejection are very high if your spouse have a PR and you applying for Visitor before your own PR application.but if you are applying after PR application submission you have 50-50 chance.you have to provide convincing reasons and supprting to impress them for the necessity of travel.any rejections at any point would lead to delay in your PR.In my case,i could submit the PP after 2 months of request as i was canada . :(

Thanks for the info anurkk.

Check out with the "Sydney Australia" post to see approximately how long the VO is taking in real time (the website suggests 8 months or so right?) That will give you an idea what to expect. You should also send the VO a case specific enquiry asking them what to do...

I was also wondering - have you already sent them the AFP PCC? If yes, did you send them only the name check or did you send the name+finger print check?

Cheers

I am curious, how many of the 2012 applicants on this thread are already in Canada or have been to Canada since their marriage (on a Visitor Visa or otherwise). I wonder if that "fact" delays the Spouse Sponsorship application at the New Delhi Visa Office.

Also, did anyone got a TRV rejection (for the Principal Applicant) before applying for Spousal Sponsorship? I wonder if Canadian Visa Rejections (any kind of Visa) impact the assessment of Permanent Residence application at New Delhi?

Hey... I went to Canada after I got married... It technically does not affect the processing time that NDVO takes however, they DO perform a name check on your behalf for Canada if you do. This would not really cause a delay in processing your documents... unless....
In some cases (like mine) they ask to do a finger print check as well... in which case you are looking at a 4 month delay...

The deal is that you are not supposed to submit a Canadian PCC with your file-- but they will still check it out.. So it all depends on luck...

Cheers

I am in Canada on PR for last 4+ years, I sponsored my wife in august 2012, here are the dates:

Application sent :August 10, 2012
Confirmation ; August 20, 2012
Sponsorship eligibility decision done: September 25, 2012
File sent to new delhi ; October 5, 2012

Since October and file been sent to NewDelhi office, there has not been any communication (no passport request, no police clearance request) or reply to the email followup. Online status : Application received and medical results have been received .

Any comments from any members on this is welcomed, any member's similar experience with dates or similar timelines... Just want to know is this delay common or should I press panic button now ....
Thanks
V.

Hi zenn
I already send them an email and explain my situation and they replied

Thank you for your email. Your Family Class application has been received by our office and is awaiting assessment by a Visa Officer.

Your application will remain in process if your visa expires and you have to leave Australia. Please keep our office advised of any email or mailing address changes.

Ecas up and running. But still no updates :(
