FINALLY DECISION MADE AFTER A LONG LONG WAITING TIME. THE ECAS WAS DOWN FOR 10 DAYS AND JUST YESTERDAY ECAS CHANGED INTO IN PROCESS BOTH FOR SPONSORSHIP AND PR APPLICAITON. JUST AFTER 2 HOURS, THE WHOLE PROCCESS CHANGED INTO DECISION MADE. JUST EXPECTING PASSPORT SHORTLY AND SHE WILL BE HERE WITH ME

Congrats to all who received DMs recently. I recently came across the following page on CIC website which mentions about some rule change from October 25th. Wanted to share it here with you all and want your opinion on it. According to page what it seems to me that they have changed the rules for spousal sponsorship that now spouse has to be living with sponsor for two years before they can apply for their Permanent Residence in Canada. does it mean that from October 25th Whoever sponsors their spouse, has to live with their better half for two years and then only they can apply....this sounds impractical as it wont be possible for all to live together for two years and wait...please shed some thoughts on this link.

that simply means u have to live together after getting pr to maintain the pr .In that way it would be unconditional pr. you dont have to live together before applying for pr, its only after getting it. So relax

Hello everybody!

My husband called an hour ago after coming out of his interview...WE ARE APPROOOOOVED!!!


I am shaking so badly! We applied on March 6 2012 and FINALLY we are approved!

We just have to redo his medicals (expired january 12) and redo his nepal PCC, no problem. No problems at all! So freaking happy I could explode!

After all the things we thought were huge complications in our case (inter-racial, different religions, visa-overstay in past, non-traditional wedding without either parents or other relatives present and other little things) and still they saw we are truly in a love marriage!

Thank goodness for the intelligence of the ND visa officers!


Now just to do the budget to afford his flight here...and buy him all his winter clothes! He'll arrive most likely when there's still snow on the ground!

Thanks for the support of everyone on this forum for the past year, this forum has been a never ending fountain of information for us during this whole process.

We can start our lives now! No more living in fear! We can finally start our family!!! Ahhh....

I wanted to add that my husbands status went in process today and it states that they started processing it feb 15

One more question!

All the flights I am looking at are through New York airport. So from kathmandu, to Delhi, to New York, to Toronto. With his PR visa will he still need to get a transit visa for New York? When we flew from Australia to kathmandu through Thailand he needed a transit visa and I am having a difficult time googling it for an answer.
