Good to hear from you, if you dont mind can you please share your timeline... As for the passport, the only option is to track it with the courier company. NDVO will generally not provide any response to passport inquiries. keep in touch, and hopefully we will at least move on to the "In Process" soon!

Timeline is as below :
Application done : 10th Sept 2012.
Sponsorship Appr : 24th Oct 2012.
Passport Request : Nov 10 2012.
Passport send and delivered : Nov 14 2012.

It dosent show in process yet same situation as of your's once your would go in process some hope would generate. TIll sponsorship all went fast and once the file is in india back home.. lethargic slow system.The biggest thing is to check sponsor's viability, if they feel its ok.. why d hell dis guys take such a long time to giv visa..have to be patient and wait.. i think it should soon go in process in this month.. as i see other people in forum before me going in process..

Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your timeline... We have very similar timelines. Since your application went to in process that gives me more hope for an update on my application soon as well. A lot of us here are frustrated with the lengthy wait, but I hope they start moving through this backlog soon... There hasn't been much progress in the last while, but hoping for a "Miracle" soon... Good luck and hope you get the visa soon!

I think its true they work on the basis of application received date and not passpport request as both of our dates are same for passport request in my case its earlier but still its not gone in process.. so dont know..but watch and wait patiently that's it

Good to hear that things are moving at NDVO....
My latest is that my husband was contacted via email by NDVO on 4th January 2013, informing us that his Schedule A - Background Declaration annexures are missing. When we sent in the application we had to type his addresses, education etc in a separate sheet and attach it to Schedule A. We definitely mailed them because we have scanned copies of the application mailed out.

I can't believe that they LOST the MOST important part of our application ... and they have been sitting on his passport for the last 3+ months without even touching our application and then woke up from their coma and figured out they lost a part of the application !
I'm sooo mad with these people ! I'm wondering how long its going to take from now on ?

I've applied for my case notes on 3rd January 2013. Would like to see what's in there...

I am nt frm oct but close....yes the wait is killing..but good news is..they did not wait till end of month to update....so i think there will be more updates in coming weeks.
