New Delhi - 2012 applicants

Hi All,

I have a question on the address in ECAS. The address we had given in ECAS is that of Canada, as the sponsor is in canada and the ECAS takes sponsor's details. IS this what is supposed to be or should we give one Indian address too??? Pl. advice...

And I can see that medical is passed
Security-not started
Criminality -not started
Eligibility - not started
Latest Note updated on 13th sept 2012-says passport received and RETAINED AT PASSPORT REGISTRY (IN capital letter)
Since then what they r doing with passport..since then they havent touched my file.....

What does that mean retained at passport registry
No travel history

what is your time line?? did the first stage already clear?? if application transferred to New Delhi after first stage approval, it will take four weeks to NDVO to Request Passport.

My application was sumitted on 21st June 2012. Sponsor was approved in early September 2012. Passport was requested late September 2012 and sent as soon as it was requested. Since then no updates... . I see many June applicants have had updates to "in process" last month ... I'm so worried. I'm going to apply for my case notes tomorrow. Any thing to cheer me up ? I feel like moving out from here

how much does it cost and how many days to get ? can we do it from india or it has to be done by the sponsor in canada ?

Only from Canada I guess..

At the end of the file do you see any comments?
Its a little weird they criminality and eligibility has not been started. Given your timeline those checks should have been completed by now.
Passports are retained at the registry, so that is normal.
Normally security details are not provided in the notes.
Its time for you to contact MP. Go to him with these notes, so that he can make a specific inquiry at the Delhi office.

At the end of the note comment says SUSPECT SPONSOR NOT IN CANADA...
.but I guess that comment was made before sponsor approval.. Bcos I already send the document proving I am in Canada.. And one note says SATISFIED TTHAT SPONSOR RESIDES IN CANADA..

Humm, Normally if they are satisfied with the file and all, the comments are like 'Marriage appears to be genuine' etc etc. But in you case they have not started with initial checks. I am not sure what is the reason of the delay. Try to contact MP. And order for notes again this month end. There may be some progress.
