NDVO asked for my passport so I had to come back to india , I cudnt have stayed in canada without my passport .

no i mean u should have mailed them about second ppr but anyways ur here now so hav to wait but good to see some movement in june applicants i applied on 25 june so hope to hear something ths week or next bt m not sure if my case is delayed or not bcz first i send my pP in sept then req it back in nov due to some travel and return it back in dec so hope so it will not create any problems

hello everone.. i came across this thread today and must say its an amazing thing u all are doing... if pls u all can help me too..
i got married to a canadian citizen and we applied for my pr in septmebr this yr. our application ws recieved on 6th september by missisauga office. my husband got an email dated 16th october stating that his sponsorship has been approved and my application has been forwarded to ndvo... after using his uci no i was able to check our ecas n it says dm under his name and application recieved under mine (We received *******'s application for permanent residence on September 6, 2012.

also i recieved an email dated 10th november, 2012 requeting my passport.. during thsi time i was in canada wid my husband on a visitor visa. bt then i came back to india to submit my passport. i sent my passport vis blue dart n they recieved it on 1st december ( according to the tracking number given by blue dart) i have yet not received any confirmation from ndvo that they have received my passort or not ( do they evn send an acknowledgment?)
also our ecas still shows the same thing.. nothing has changed..
but the most wierd thing is that they mentioned uci number on the email on my application too which is different from my husband's uci number. i can only view our ecas if i use my husband uci number not mine.. why so??? if i enter my uci number it says we do not recognise information entered by you.. i get the same message when i enter the file number metioned on emails recieved by us... i am so confused.. pls help...

I'll answer your queries in points
1) NDVO does not send any confirmation of passport receipt.
2) You may not be able to view using your UCI number because they may not have entered any information into it yet since you sent your application in september. I had a similar problem in the begining. Try also playing around in the Name category. For my case, I had to enter my full name into the Last Name field for some strange unfathomable reason.

Happy New Year to everyone, your families and your near and dear ones! May 2013 holds the best for all of us and wish it be so good for everyone that we wish all the future years to be like 2013.
2012 has been a bitter-sweet for most of us recently active here, as we got married, enjoyed honeymoons, might have enjoyed peaks of romance, might have ignited those feelings of love, and then fading away a bit due to dreaded waiting (for visa) to join back with our partners, that might have taken away some fun out of 2012... Overall, I consider it action-filled, feelings-filled, fulfilling year and hope everyone else had the same... And what we missed this year, wish 2013 brings that to everyone... Wish you a speedy visa, and wish after that we are so happy and joyful, that it just washes away these waiting disappointments/frustrations and we laugh it off thinking every minute was worth the wait...

Has been about 5 months for some of us. Towards the end of the year it slowed down... Earlier in the year it used to be quicker.... So hopefully, same is the case in early next year (i.e. faster ) ..

One of my friend applied in July and got the PPR on in Oct, but she didn't check her mail as she thought it would come to her husband's email address as sponsorship approval came there.. So now when I asked her to check it yesterday, she found it in her inbox..

So will this delay the processing?? What are the next steps??

Probably will not delay anything much. It seems that NDVO asks for passport and holds it on file until the process is complete. Passport's requirement is only for a fraction of the total time.

The next step would be to send the passport to NDVO asap.

If you don't send the passport when requested, they usually send you a second PPR. But best not wait for that.

Happy New Year 2013 to all...
After a long wait, finally decided to post...
i have few doubts about the processing times and others, will be thankful if any of you have any info...

my application was filed on 29th march 2012,
application was approved and forwarded to NewDelhi office on 29th june 2012,
got my passport request on 13th july 2012, sent the app package on 18th july 2012.

thats it..... it has been a long wait since then,
have sent an enquiry once, obvious no reply.

now ... i know that the processing time as shown in canada imm link recently is 10 months,
1. is it the time from the date the application is filed?

2. i changed my surname after marriage, got my new passport with new surname and spouse name added,
have sent both passports (old surname - cancelled + new one), could this be the reason for delay?

3. my application is still within the processing times (until jan 29th 2013), we are planning a visit to the
NewDelhi visa office soon, do we need any appointments as such, any of you had any experiences as
-such, please shed some light on this.

4. finally -- for all those who got visa, do they return the original documents submitted as a proof along
with the application and passport? i have submitted my original SSLC/10th std cert. and voters-id.
