They are only off for 25th and 26th and then on 1st Jan ... why do you think we can't get lucky between those dates ?

I'm hopeful too Thinkpad. I'm hoping that if our officer is going on leave he/she will do a handover to a colleague who will ensure that the file is completed as planned.

Hi guys .. i reached canada safely on 17th...
everything went smoothly at immigration.. ws jus asked 1 ques if any luggage will follow me later...
takes jus 2 minutes they fill the landing papers... n tell that pr card will be mailed in 6 weeks time..

Not sure whether you all aware of this...

VO will give a 1 year valid PR visa for all PR holders initially, when you are at the port of entry in Canada that time they will cancel the visa to order a PR card which will get usually within 30 days for new immigrants.

Initial 1 year visa validity will start from Medicals date of each applicant, every one will receive their one year PR visa's in their passports before they expire which means 1 year time from the day you have given medicals.

This is must for any Canada embassy in the world. But I hope we all will receive our passports back ASAP that will give some time for shopping/travel plans with out any last min tensions...

Been away for a few weeks but just signed back on to say that we've also been scheduled for an interview on jan 22. Looking at the sheet it seems that there are a lot of people getting called for interviews now -yikes! Good luck to everyone - order your GCMS notes. I've heard before that you can get them in as little as 2 weeks if you explain the situation (interview coming soon that you were just told about) so try it even if it seems like it won't reach in time.

ND Office requested for more documents and couriered today and will be receiving by Dec 24th...So when can I expect to hear from them again after receiving the requested documents...They gave me till Jan 23, 2013 for the documents, so will they open my file before or after this date..

No dear, I didn't cuz my spouse recently done a mp enquiry n we got reply from VO tht following an initial review and my file in queued for interview. So I m waiting for interview call.
