I am planning to order GCMS notes this weekend only.... Can someone again tell me short summary on this, like which form need to be filled in & which one need to be signed by sponsor or principal applicant.

You need to be in Canada to apply or your sponsor can order GCMS notes for you. there are 2 forms you need to download, you need to sign one consent form authorizing your spouse to get information about your case from CIC.

Step by step:


Print off IMM 5563 (05-2012) E - Access to Information and Personal Information Request
Section A:
1. Access to Information Act
2. English/French (your choice)
3. Email (fastest way)
4. No (because you do not live in Canada you cannot request on your own, your spouse will have to officially request for you)

Section B:
This section is for you to fill out.
Family Name (Last Name)
Given Name(s) (First Name/Middle Name)
DOB
Electronic Files - Status of an Appliacation - File Number (you would get this from the AOR or Approval, ours started with an 'F') - Location (in your case its New Delhi, India)
DO NOT fille out the Immigratrion File in Canada section or the next section down that says Physical File

Section C:
This section your spouse that lives in Canada will fill out:
Tick the box "this request is submitted by a Canadian Citizen or PR"
Mr. Mrs. Ms
Family Name (Last Name)
Given Name(s) (First Name/Middle Name)
Full Address
Phone Number
Email
Requesters Signature: your spouse to sign and date

NOW:

Print off IMM 5475(12-2004) E - Authoriy to Release Personal Information To A Designated Individual
Choose One:
Tick off the first box "i authorize"
Questions 1-4 are for you, the principal applicant to fill out
1. Family Name and Given Name
2. DOB
3. Name of Office:New Delhi, India Location of Office: New Delhi, India
4. File Number or Client ID

Questions 5-6 are for your spouse, the Canadian citizian or PR to fill out
5. Family Name and Given Name
6. Address, Phone and Email (make sure to use the same email that you provided when you first submitted the application)

7. Principal Applicant to sign and date/Sponsor to sign and date

Pay the $5 online, print the receipt and fill it out with your sponsors information and email all 4 pages.

fill the forms out and then scan them and emailed them, the email address is at the bottom of form IMM-5563

Thanks mumble.... even am relieved of this silly thought that came to my mind as u n maplegal disagree with this yaar its really frustating n the wait is getting soooo long n painfull... both of us are physically unwell... its really disturbing... everyday i wish to be with my spouse for the first aniversary which is in the end of january... earlier i was sure to celebrate xmas n newyears with her but now i jus want to be together for our aniversary

Its ok yaar. Such thoughts are the topic of me and my husband's discussion everyday. We imagine thousand scenarios as to what must have happened to our file. I really really wish you are with your spouse for the anniversary. No one deserves to be away from their spouses.

Unfortunately for me, my anniversary is on the 18th. And today is Saturday. No sign of the passport so I guess I'll have to celebrate my first wedding anniversary on skype.

My postwoman (I know it's a woman coz I waited once to see who it was and now I smile sweetly at her whenever I see her in the hopes that it will get my passport to me sooner) is going to get a hug from me and lots of good wishes when she brings the PP.

Dude..any updates on your end? Did you do a MP inquiry or order GCMS notes etc?

Yeah its more than 4 MONTHS since they have my PP....so I got my GCMS notes a few days ago, it took them exactly 30 days to send them via email...
It says that my interview is waived and that the file is In Process nothing more than that I guess...most of the notes are just information from the application we send them...but I recommend everyone in this forum who is getting nervous to order these notes, really worth the effort !!!

The crux of the matter is that we have to accept that another human being(s) is the architect of your destiny for the moment and I am out of options on how to deal with it.

Thinkpad, you're right. That's the hard part to accept. How can someone or even the people designing this system not take into consideration the emotional strain the applicant goes through.

I know for a fact that in the US it is much easier for a spouse to go over. It's as easy as applying for a tourist visa and is processed in a matter of weeks. They are not eligible to work with that status and have to apply for work permit separately.

But they can close that physical and geographical barrier.

Our only option for our own sake is to stay positive. And I find this forum really helpful because only those going through this agonizing process can understand.

Stay strong everyone.

I was hoping that my wife would be here before the holidays, but that's not gonna happen!

I hear you. Yup you are right. My cousin got married a month before me. He took his spouse to US in two months, I am still here. Its not being nice being in question in your own family.

I do not understand the priority system here. If it takes like more than 7 months for them to clear cases then we can hardly say its on priority.

I am really sorry you cannot be with your husband for the anniversary. But lets hope there are better things in store for you.

BTW. With the latest data compiled in the spreadsheet, looks like all april and may applicants who have been active on forum and whose applications are still in 'Application Received' status have got interview calls or have been informed about interview via GCMS and MP inquiry.

You got your PPR in NOV so I think wait for a while. There are chances that your interview may be waived, if your case is straightforward.
