Hi All,

I want to know if incase we order CAIPS notes, does it have any impact on processing?
Can it delay the processing?
Hi, as long as you tick the box for "electronic file" and not "physical file", you'll be fine. No impact on your processing timeline.

haha for sure! thank you! Cheers

BTW did you ever got ur notes which u ordered? What did u see in them?
Yes, but it took about 5 weeks. It was 35 pages of codes and short form words and technical data, but the last two pages were interesting as they contained the officer's analysis of our relationship - how we met, opinion of the pictures, details of ceremonies ... I was surprised that they didn't pay more attention to all the visits before we got married but they did include details about my own immigration to Canada. All in all, worth the $5 :)

Hi Guys,

I need some advise regarding my wife's sponsorship application...

Details
=====

Application Received at CIC Mississauga - Jun 8th 2012

Approval from CIC Mississauga - Aug 14th 2012

Also my wife recently got a single entry visitor visa for Canada (I know its tough to get one but we were just luck I guess :) )

She is planning to come to Canada mid September on her visitor visa but she will need to submit her passport as soon as CIC Delhi requests it. Since we can not send passports by courier she will need to head back to India as soon as the request is received.

Now my questions is whether it is fine to delay the passport submission to CIC Delhi by sometime as she will be able to mail her passport only once she is back in India and does coming to Canada on visitor visa prior to PR approval cause any problems ?
Wow, you are indeed lucky to get that visit visa! There's absolutely no problem with visiting prior to PR issuance - this represents the concept of "dual intent" which is allowed in the regulations. And since the same visa office is responsible for issuing all types of visas, all the more reason to be confident that they have low concerns with your case, as evidenced by them giving your wife visit visa while a PR application is underway.

In terms of when to submit the passport, can I ask how long your wife plans to be in Canada? If it's only a few weeks, then you could wait for the PPR, tell Delhi she's here with you in Canada and will return to India by xx date, and she will promptly submit at that time. It all depends on whether you feel it's more of a priority to spend time together, or to not delay the PR process at all. Either way, good luck in your journey.

yes you can do that because they didnt mention any due date but it would be better, if you send them an email or case specific enquiry to inform about delay in pp submission.
good luck :)

Hi

Any experience on sponsorship of dependant child? PPR was received on 11th May and passport was sent to ND on 3rd July. still no news on our case. It is a straight forward case both I, husband and elder son are PR. younger son was born in UAE and stayed in UAE for 4 years with the grandmother. Any views on this
Hasmee,

I am in similar situation, sponsoring the child. However, I have no idea why it takes so much of time. Usually dependent child is straight forward case with no criminal history (no PCC required) and when both the parent are PR there is no question as PR was issued to them after a detail background check.

But suprisingly the data shared by lalatata earlier in this forum shows that for the 50% of the cases the timelines for the dependent child is more than for the spouse, Strange? Do they want to check if that child is really your biological child or not?

Do anybody has any idea about this?

My wife would like to stay a minimum of 2-3 weeks in order to justify the expenses of visiting Canada :)

It is very likely that she will get the PPR as the plan is to be in Canada around Sep 8th and it would have been around 25 days from the time the application was forwarded to Delhi.

hello friends I received passport request yesterday I have some questions may be its stupid but i wanna make sure before i send it. please let me know

1. Do i only send my wife's passport ( i am sponsoring her)
2. I already paid right of permanent resident fee i paid total of 1040 dollars and submitted the receipt along with the initial application. Do I still need to submit the receipt when submitting passport? Is there any other fees I am missing?
3. my wife will be mailing passport from USA. I know the passport cant be mailed outside INDIA/NEPAL/BHUTAN. so how can the passport be claimed back once decision is made? Do i need to include mailing address of our home country when submitting passport or include name of person who is authorized to pick the passport ( I have been using a representative who has branch in canada and home country so I guess i just mail the passport and dont worry about any mailing address at home country)

Please let me know. I would really appreciate it.
