on that note, after checking my ecas status, I noticed, the status changed from Application Received to In Process...and they started processing as of 17th April...

So definitely some positives...

Muski if you still doing updates, please update that info...

and hoping for speedy processing for all of us...

Guys n gals I am confused of one thing that there was a change in policy that applicants after 26th October will get a temporary PR and others will get direct PR, how is it working?
I mean my passport has only immigrant written on it, what are applicants getting who applied after 26th October?

This is also what I was confused about.. Though it is applicable on the applicants after 25th Oct, 2012, whether it will affect the processing time or not...
The condition is they have put in that the couple shall remain together for at least 2 years to make the conditional PR to unconditional and permanent.. But seeing their processing times it seems that they are themselves violating the condition by separating the couples for times enough to cause distress, by keeping the processing unchecked, prolonging it. The fraudulent ones will still get away and the normal ones are caught to the over vigilant check of the visa officers who have been given discretion that of a God... that they have the will to decide the future of the normal applicants in lieu of check over the fraudulent ones.
They need to balance and optimize their act.
Seeing the variety of errors and delays, it is hard to believe that our file is undergoing rightful processing. especially when PP has been received according to the tracking mail on Feb.13, 2013.

Rightly said Serf. It is quite an issue esp. for visa offices with long timeline and high fraud rates. Unfortunately that's the way it is. Did you know that more than 50% cases submitted at NDVO are fake - or deemed fake. Imagine the plight of visa officers ! Not that I am sympathetic but it certainly makes the situation bad for all applicants

A very good afternoon to you all..

Is it okay to write an email to NDVO and put the inquiry to check the status for the passport and far the process went. it's been over a month since they have our passport.

If that's fine can someone please share what sort of information we should write in the email.

Oh well 1 month is nothing! NDVO has had my passport for 5 months... They have had others for more than that!
They do not entertain mails regarding the status of your application.
If you want more info on your application you will have to apply for GCMS notes or make an enquiry with your local MPs office
