New Delhi - 2012 applicants

I have a sad news..My Application got refused..They sent me letter today via email..I thought everything is going perfect since They were satisfied with my Interview..that's why they requested for passport after the interview but i didn't know that they r gonna to refuse it.. :-[

Its really sad to hear refusal... bt dont lose hopes and sit quite... reappeal using a lawyer...

Just found out some interesting information over at the trackitt.com forums.

According to one of the members (who claims to work at CIC), CIC had reached its quota for family class sponsorships for the 2012-2013 fiscal year sometime in late March. For those who don't know, a fiscal year runs from April of one year to March of the next year. The new fiscal year for 2013-2014 began at the start of this month and the quota count was refreshed back to 0.

If this information is accurate, this may explain the lull in activity in the past few weeks. As well, expect a lot of activity in the coming week(s).

I wish its true... ;D Becz there were very less DMs in the past month on our forum..... Let us all hope for the best.. ;D

actually you are correct the quota for 2013 fiscal year (not calendar year) is following and government fiscal year always start from April 01... good job my friend and thanks

Thanks....lets wait with hope that we all see some action soon.

This makes me think that we may see some non Tuesday updates I.e other than the Tuesday/Wednesday when they update website.
Also on the response that I got from the mp ..it said that they are trying to clear 80%cases within 6 months .so to maintain that average they will try process things faster as lot of people have been waiting for a long time.

My timeline:
Application Filed: Sept 5, 2012
Approval CIC-M and transfer to New Delhi: Oct 16, 2012
AOR-PPR from New Delhi: November 3, 2012

Note - they asked for more photos on February 21st, and we sent it to them the very next day.

I too am wondering how come people that filed after are getting the PR approved before?
Am I missing something? Should I be contacting them and following up more regularly?
Lastly, when we filed the application the online processing time for New Delhi was 7 months, now it is 10 months.... what is the processing time?

Would really appreciate some insight/advise

I am very sorry to hear about your refusal. Did the VO say they are going to approve after the interview? Also did your status go to In Process after the interview.
Where does the sponsor leave in Canada? Based on that hearing times will vary. You can follow the below thread to learn more about appeals. Also getting a lawyer is very important to handle appeals. Hope for the best!

Dear friends,hope every body's wait is going well.

As for us, we received document request for 9 Feb 2013 which we submit by 12 feb 2013.
and have not seen any action after that.our passport has been with them since oct,2012 (aug 2012 application).
Please update sheet accordingly.
Also,despite knowing that MP would be no help,i still contacted them . after a week i get this response:
"This application is currently awaiting initial review by a visa officer, following which we will contact the applicant directly to advise of any additional information or action required."

AGAIN A STANDARD GENERIC EMAIL.
have they been hatching eggs on our passport for almost 6 months and how can they ask for documents if
they had not done review of file. WHAT A JOKE.....

I have updated the spreadsheet. There are members who applied in Feb,April,March... still waiting for visa, so it all depends on each individual file and some luck. Since they asked for more docs, atleast you know they have looked at your file and done some processing. So hopefully you will get your DM very soon. All the best!

There is no quota on spousal intake. As far as I see the details it states that so many have been accepted , I might be missing something but it does not state that the limit was reached. Spousal sponsorship does not also require financial capability.

@glass - sorry to hear about your rejection.

You need to know on what grounds your file was rejected- GCMS notes.
The biggest advantage of applying 'outland' as oppose to inland is that you can appeal your case.

We were talking abt the quota thing last dec too....saying yearly quota has exausted...
Now its fiscal year quota thing coming into picture.... :

After reading glass posts I am really worried abt my case. Can they refuse my case too as the vo clearly said to me that he is approving my case and would issue me visa soon after I submit new medical and pcc as the previous ones had already been expired. I did submit new documents on march 12 2013 bt no update since then. I am really worried now. Please help.
