New COPRs/PRV

Hello,

Starting this thread for new COPR recipients that were received in Dec 2020/Jan 2021. What is in store for them? Do they have to wait for their COPRs to expire before IRCC contacts them? Do they have to wait for IRCC to be done with expired COPRs from 2020 and wait for their turn and how long is the wait looking?

I think we are both in the same shoe. Got COPR approved 12th January, 2021. To expire, 29th April, 2021.
What are we supposed to do. just be waiting?
What is the point of sending us visas and we can not travel when we are ready to travel?
Its all really confusing

You maybe allowed to travel but you will need to show negative Covid test and 14 days quarantine plan.

I also have the same question. I think IRCC will have to announce some kind of policy for us at some point soon.

My COPR states that we cannot travel now. I am fine with producing negative COVID test and quarantine plan. But now sure on how to obtain authorization letter. As this wait is becoming unbearable now. But I understand that it is not just my family but a lot of people affected by this pandemic.

I think it is good that they gave us visa, which gave peace of mind to us. But I can understand the frustration and just want to get this over with, because the real struggle will begin once we land in Canada.

I was thinking that IRCC can definitely work on getting authorizations to the expired COPRs from 2020, but if they want to be more efficient they shouldn't let the new COPRs expire or else this will just keep on continuing.

Do you know under what criteria? And how did they get the authorization letter?

I know, family sponsorships and immediate/extended family members are being given AL to travel, even they have COPRs post March 18th, 2020.

Wow! They are brave. Do you know when is this from? I mean around what date or month?

I am seriously thinking on giving this a try now, but from whatever I have read, and even few documents that I received with my COPR state that we are not allowed to travel now.

I think it is quite recent. Probably of this month. I saw the same post quoted in another thread here just today.

Thanks! I read that. Any idea on what about my situation though, where I received COPR in first week of Jan 2021? I just spoke with CBSA and they mentioned that I am not allowed to travel now since I DO NOT fall under any of the exemptions and should wait till the travel restrictions are lifted.

I just spoke to CBSA and they said you cannot travel now. If we take a chance, we'll have to worry about not allowed to board flight or worse turned away at the port of entry.
