Friends,
My ecas status has been updated to "Decision made" :) CIC received my passport on December 12. Would be very fortunate to get passports back in December itself. Not very optimistic though. Best wishes to other Jan applicants.

Guys, I am feeling very low now. I am in a situation where i need to get my PR done by end of Jan 2014. I had mailed my lawyer and asked him what would be the timeline for me to receive PPR after medicals . He replied back saying anywhere between 2 to 6 months so we havr to wait and see . This reply actually shattered me as I was hopeful that it will be anywhere between 2 weeks to 1 month.

Seriously , I might have to think of other options if it woulde be on the timeline he has quoted. Please guys let me know if he is right or not.

There might be cases that take 2 to 6 months. But realistically thinking, that would not be the case for you as you see the trends on this forum. Your lawyer might have said that to you to keep you away from asking him questions for a while :P

I second green_dc. Based on the trends from spreadsheet I don't think 2-6 months is realistic. I think you should sail through by Jan-2014. Good luck :)

Why do you need it done by then? Ie what are your other options if it doesn't come through?

I have a job offer to start on Feb3rd 2014. Moreover if i cannot get started by then , the maximum time i have is until end of april 2014 when my present employment terminates. I do not want to wait until the last minute to get things done. If it exceeds until 6 months then it will be difficult for me to sustain by myself.

Thanks ! vyasd and green_dc for cheering me up and hope your words come true and everything will be done by until end of Jan 2014. :) Keeping my fingers crossed.

Ceraam, I think you will be fine:)

I have a question to all of you since this topic came up. When do we become officially PR? Is it when we get COPR or when we get PR card?

When you land .

same here! PP received on DEC 11 and eCAS status this morning says Decision Made. lets hope for DEC return! :D

best of luck to all those still waiting...

Even I'm hoping to get Visa and CoPR before Christmas . Cic received passports on December 5th.

However, if I don't see the return tracker activated before next weekend, it's definitely next year . I don't think cic works holiday weeks.

yeah there is no particular pattern with CEC to roll out PPR. Its random . I am waiting for PPR since oct 20 over a month now but few of us who did medical in nov got their PPR. By the way any one in same boat as me , did medical in oct and still waiting for PPR :(

CIC will continue to work on reduced numbers. They can't shut down the whole system for the holidays :)
