My employer normally extends my closed work permit every year. This year, they are not planning to extend. They want me to go back to continue working for them in my home country. I applied for bowp on my own.

I'm applying for jobs, but all employers refuse to give interviews after they hear that I'm not PR. I even told few employers that I got MR - they just say call us back after you get pr. Bowp won't do any difference I guess.

I hope you and your family get ppr soon !

When did you apply for BOWP? Once it's approved (assuming it comes before you get landing based on CEC application), you shouldn't have a problem getting a job, I wouldn't even tell prospective employers until you fill out your new hire paperwork and have to submit copy of the work permit since the open permit allows you to work anywhere unrestricted (except for childcare and healthcare I believe).... Anyway, Good Luck! Nice to see a few more PPR/CoPR's coming in, maybe ours are on the way too - the power of positive thinking ;D

Hey Ceeram,

Did you undergo medical in the last 12 months? If yes, they may not issue MR and consider your existing results.

Also, did you order GCMS. If you see Medical status as Sent / In progress - just send an email to OttPilot-Immigration and inform that you didnt get MR even though GCMS says MR is in progress.

I plan to go ahead and do upfront medicals to save time. Though my lawyer said he will enquire why they did not send medical forms. Hope it is ok.

Thanks! dandelions. Hope i get my MR soon.

Hello feifei,

Does your ECAS says that it is IN process ? I plan to do upfront medicals next week friday . Have you mailed CIC and asked them about the MR forms.

Have you got acknowledgement for your RCMP (or pcc?) that it has been received by cic. I guess they will issue mr once they review the document you sent.

I think they got my RCMP and that is why they issued the RPRF and biodata after that.

I hope we all get pr status before Christmas :)

Alak from nov got this ppr last night (1030 pm). I hope they start sending pprs in the same pace as rprf . There are quite a few people waiting after medicals.

Hey Guys, does anyone know if the PPR comes after ecas status changes to decision made or its other way aroun like first PPR comes and then ecas status changes or there is no defined pattern :) I am just desperately waiting for PPR and hope we get it before this year.... :)

Few got ppr before decision made. Some got a day after decision was made. Some got after 1 month.

I think I now know how cpp-Ottawa works - they want to keep it random . Just to see what we do in a crystal ball.

Yes, it is still ''in process''. I have not email CIC, I do this CEC process through a lawyer.
Do you happen to know how long it takes CIC to really process the payment (ie charge the credit card), after the RPRF request?

I think they take the money instantaneously. In my case they already took the money in 30 minutes. I do it through lawyer too . I also wanted to ask they had asked for RCMP for either you or your spouse and what would be your NOC if you don mind.

It seems my CC hasn't been charged yet. Will wait a few days and then ask my lawyer.
No RCMP. My NOC is 4011.

What do you mean cc is not charged ?

I thought we pay rprf online and get receipt immediately after payment . And we send this receipt to cic. How is it your credit card was not charged ?

No worries, turned out my lawyer has just done the payment online today (she can be a bit slow sometimes...). All good.
