The only risks associated are: -

- If your application is rejected, you did the medicals for nothing
- If your file is held up for more than a year, their is a chance that CEC will make you do them again

However, lots of people have done advanced medicals without any problem. I intend to do this myself.

That is my understanding as well?

However there is one more advantage for not doing Advance Medical... if you get medical request, that means you have passed all the eligibility tests....

If advance medical is done, you will probably wait until you get PPR request....

They tend to still send out the medical request - and you then provide them with the info it's already been done.

I agree with bahadur. CIC does not issue MR in case they already have medicals on file. The next step is directly PPR. Only in some cases, by oversight, they might issue MR.

That's actually not the case.

They still issue the mr by default. If you look through the threads for the last 2 years its evident!

Guys I sent my PCC on april 22 and courier tracking shows it got delivered on april 23 but to alternate address. I have not received any acknowledgement email yet....does it take that long to get ACK?

Please advise , also has some seen same thing that they sent document to usual cpp-o address but it got delivered to alt cpp-o address? :o

nvm i got the confirmation of receipt of documents

Got my gcms notes today. According to that eligibility is passed, criminality in progress, security and medicals not started.

waiting84, great going! You're far ahead in Jan-13 applicants. :)
You would be able to provide us direction.

Hi Guys,

While we all Jan-13 applicants are waiting for next steps, I was reading May-June-2012 applicants threads.
From some notes, after medicals, along with passport they have got bio-data form request. Any idea about this form?

Let's gear up and hope for next steps for us soon.

JSM Friend

I would also like to do medicals up front, you are most certainly right!, I have seen this take 4 to 6 weeks. I think we would all like to save that time eh?

Could you please PM me to let me know your method

Thanks

Suvan

Folks,
Just to keep you posted. Unwillingly I am planning to go for medicals in advance next week. My family is returning to India in early July at the start of School vacation in Canada. Do have a plan to bring them back to Canada as PR and land in Oct/Nov if all goes well with my application.
Do not see any benefit from Upfront medicals but I don't prefer to do mine in Canada individually and ask them to get it done in India separately. Moreover, looking at the current pace, I do not expect any MR's before Aug for Jan 2013 applicants.

Hi All
Do we requare any forms to filled for upfront medicals is only our Aor copy is enough?
Thank you

Even the AOR copy is not required. Upfront medicals can be done even by applicants who are yet to post their CEC application. If you have already filed your application, you will need to quote your AOR No. and 8 digit UCI for it to be linked to your file at CIC.
Do weigh the risks attached in doing upfront medicals.

DO YOU THINK UPFRONT MEDICALS CAN FASTER THE PR PROCESS? ..ACCORDING TO THE GCMS CIC SET A TIME PERIOD TO FINISH THE APPLICATION.
