Hi all,

It's my first post but i've been following the trend as a guest for a month or so now. Am a Jan applicant like most of you, i sent my app on Jan 02 and it was received on Jan 04. Am pleased to say that i received my AOR today. I just thought i should share that piece of encouraging information.
Its really great news for Jan applicants. As so far 3 peoples received, I am expecting mine in next week.

Everyone from 02/01/13 is receiving the AOR's early as the process has changed and they are being provided by Sydney. This does not yet mean that the overall processing time may be quicker. Be prepared guys, we may be in for a loooong wait now before we hear anything else from CIC!

I agree with you. The wait has just begun and its a long way for PPR.
aldast, bramble84, yum > did you check if your status is reflecting in ECAS ?

Congratulations to Aldast, Bramble84, Yum !!!

Good to hear they started to process January applicans.

This is Amazing ... I am kind of nervous as my application was returned last time and I had send the package again.

My application reached on Jan 14 ..let see how if it works in my favor this time ..

Andy,

How did you make payment? Can you check if that is taken or not? I am sure you are going to get your AOR in a day or two...

Thanks,

does anybody know the process procedure? Why do we have to wait a long time after AOR? Does this mean our apps haven't been reviewed even we got the AOR?

Thanks,

Check your account - if the money is out then you know it's been taken!

Lots of applications with less visa officers... Everything happens in stages.

1) App is received and checked for completeness.
2) If all is well they send they provide an AOR and application goes for further processing.
3) They check the paperwork you have provided to see if you are eligible. If you are they progress.
4) They do an RCMP name check on you. IF something is returned they ask you for an RCMP PCC.
5) A security check is also done by CSIS.
6) If everything comes back well then they request medicals.
7) If medicals are good then they usually issue PPR.

Everything is done in stages. They open the file and then it is left idle while things happen and they work on other peoples files. Sadly due to volume, it takes a long time for everything to happen! ;)

Thanks,

Bahadur, I paid through the online mode. But nothing shows up in ECAS on querying my client ID or online payment receipt number yet. As per UPS delivery notice, my courier was received by CIO at 4.35 pm on 03 Jan. So it is as good as being delivered on 04 Jan. Hope to hear on my AOR positively next week.

jasm0085, as per your analysis, in how many months do you think CIC might inform about a rejection just incase if they dont find all required documentation?

If the application was not complete and submitted on or after the 02/01/13 then the application should be rejected instead of receiving the AOR. However, if the application was correct but their is a problem (eligibility etc) then there is a chance it won't be rejected until later. When this would happen is really unknown, no way of knowing in advance.

TBH until you have landed, nothing is certain.

Why/what are you worried about?

Application is returned if forms / docs not complete or incomplete info (No AOR issued)
Application is rejected if the VO is not satisfied with your eligibility or requirements not met (after receipt of AOR).

If you are very lucky, the VO might seek additional info without rejecting your application (chances very bleak during recent times). There are even instances of rejection after MR is received. You cross the line only when you land as a PR :)
