there seems to be no update this weekend. usually there are at least few MRs every weekend since the strike was over.

Guys is it ok to travel overseas while your CEC application is in process or do i need to inform CIC about it?

Yes you can travel without any issues - as long as you have permission to come back in (work permit, entry visa etc)

Hi everyone!

Just wanna share...I went last wednesday to my MP and asked assistance on inquiring about my app's status (but I wasn't hoping for anything really, knowing that a lot of apps are still waiting for MR). They called me back last friday but I missed their call so I returned the call this morning..the lady assistant for the MP said that my file is on queue for review and no action is needed for now. She also said that she was told the processing time for CEC now is 14 to 16 months (which may not be true to other cases as far as I know).

Well..just have to wait and see again. It'll be 9 months for me in another 3 days. Hopefully MR will come soon.

Good luck to all of us!

So disappointing.. I was hoping things would be faster after the changes in requirements.

Sadly it would make sense 14 months now, at worst 16 month. thanks for the update, actually the process time will be again reviewed in the end of this month at their official page.

cheers thanks for sharing.

To be honest, if they said it was anything less then people would be protesting - A number of people across 2012 applications are still waiting on MR's.
Under promise, over deliver

Yep its all about saving their ass 'oh we did state it on our website didn't we!'

S-it we can do about it friends,

On a positive note, I think it will speed up! December's are getting done quicker and hopefully next month the Jan 'App received' applicants will start seeing some action!

I'm sure the older ones will get cleared up in the next couple of weeks, they must have separate teams on each

Its been a while since any Jan applicant (or anybody in the forum) updated about getting MR. Only couple of PPRs for Dec is the highlight of the day.

I hope to see some of us Jan applicants get MR this week.

In this scenario, they should move the applications to the respective visa offices which would help in quicker processing and also it will be easy for the applicants to get in touch with the Visa office in their home country.

They don't have the resources, that's the problem. Everything CIC need they can do centrally via Ottawa. They are intentionally trying to stop what you are suggesting as it's less efficient and costs more.
