Hi all. Need your advice please.

My wife was divorced 4 years ago in India.
She applied for Canada visitor visa last year and at that time she showed her marital status as single (as her passport shows single) and didn’t specify the previous divorce.
Now we are married and we have specified about her divorce while getting married. When I am putting spousal sponsorship for her, We have also specified of her previous divorce.
Would this affect in anyway for the spousal sponsorship?

You need to declare the divorce. Failure to declare the divorce is misrepresentation which would put her at risk of a five year ban from Canada.

Thanks for the reply. I have already mentioned about her previous divorce in the spousal sponsorship application.

the worry I have is that she applied and got approved for visitor visa initially last year as single.

will this cause any complications with the spousal sponsorship application as we have mentioned about her previous divorce in it?

I don't know. Not much you can do at this point but wait and see.

Are you applying for PR under family/spousal sponsorship? Do you have proof of marriage or proof of common law relationship with your sponsor?
I think you should check country specific for previous relationship proof. Some copy needs original and some is good with copy as long as they are in English or French.
