Well, it looks like they could lock out the union as early as Friday. So if your passport is sent on Wednesday, you may receive it by Friday before any job action. It's also possible potential job action could be delayed past Friday. Good luck and let us know what happens.

thanks Mightytonewheel, at least as of today the tracking is not enabled yet so really hoping its get enabled tomorrow , tomorrow is 7th day of my passport receival.
feeling anxious about this.

I have also sent CPC Ottawa an email asking for status and guidance.

will keep you posted.

yeah I know, now I am at mercy of the negotiation between canada post and the union.

Tracker not yet activated, if it doesn't get activated today then I am not receiving my passport for long.

My Wife's visitor visa is expiring on August 08 so I probably will need to file an extension as I doubt if I am getting my passport before that .

Hopefully it does not last as long as it did in 2011.

Hi buddy :
I'm in the same situation as you. I mailed my passport to Ottawa last Monday and it arrived last Wednesday.
My application status became approved on July 5th.
I tried to track my prepaid envelope number but got nothing....

I just checked CIC website and there is new announcement from IRCC.

I'm not allowed to post the link here.. Just check it on CIC website: Possible Canada Post Service Disruption: Important Notice

Hope this helps you.

It seems like we have to wait ,,,,,,,,,,

Hi lyy011lyy,

it seems canada post has extended its lockout period until Monday 12 PM ET but my tracker is still not activated yet..
Really worried , dont know what will happen.

did you submit a canada post expresspost Envelope for return ?

thanks,

Hi All,

seems like they have stopped using canada post for now so that means we are stuck until further notice..

They havent mentioned how they will handle the Passport stamping cases :( so not sure of their approach here.

can we go to CPC Ottawa and collect in person , is that an option here?

I have sent an email to Ottawa CPC but they say it takes 20 days for them to respond so not sure when I will hear from them.

thanks,

I doubt it.. unless it's something that is suggested by CIC by appointment. Generally speaking, the public can not just walk into CIC offices as far as I understand it.

ok thanks CDNPR2014, I guess my situation is messed up by the canada post strike, there is no guarantees of anything.

just hoping for the response from CPC Ottawa now on my email.

Regards,

Guys,

should have been activated today as today is kind of 4th day from when they submitted.

really worried now.

thanks,

What type of envelope did you send them? ExpressPost? If that's the case, the woman is mistaken. Not only would the tracking number have been activated by now, ExpressPost is guaranteed 2-day service. So you should have received the passport two days ago.

thanks Mightytonewheel!

Immigration saying Passport given to canada post on July 4, and canada post saying not there with them so not sure what the heck is going on.
its been a week already.

I will need to send email to CPC Ottawa to check the status of passport. Really anxious.

thanks,

Canada post finally called me today , and said that there were 3-4 cases of passport that they are not being able to track that had the sent date of July 04.
so apparently they will check back and let me know.

I hope they can find it.. not sure how these guys coordinate the postal delivery.

thanks,

That's really regrettable, but it's nice to know they appear to be aware of the situation. It's strange that they aren't tracking these and that they haven't arrived yet. Keep us posted.
