Well, I can't say anything about that.

Other than the fact that my mailman is a really nice guy and when I asked him about it he went to his truck and showed me the paper that was dated today and stated what they were offering.

It's almost certain he was showing you Saturday's offer, which the union of course communicated to its members in writing as quickly as it could -- this morning. I doubt very much that Canada Post put together another offer one day after the first one was rejected.

That is entirely possible.

Well, for my part, I'm less worried. Just now, I tracked the return envelope to us. It's on its way and scheduled to arrive Wednesday morning. (It arrived in Ottawa a week ago Friday.) So hopefully this strike will not affect passports that were sent to Ottawa in the last week.

It arrived June 17.

looks like high chances of Strike..

I have now informed NDVO by case specific enquiry that I have sent my passport to Ottawa, will send Ottawa an email in case if the strike goes ahead asking for options.

thanks,

I spoke with a Canada Post worker that comes to my workplace to drop off mail everyday and he said its highly unlikely there will be a strike. They already got a good offer.

They have also requested a longer cooling off period as well.

the cooling off period was declined by canada post management so just keeping my fingers crossed for this Friday.

hope this strike doesn't happen.

I'm with you guys on this one... Fingers crossed super tight that they don't strike and I hope they don't get locked out :-X

My Passport reached last Monday at 10 AM to Ottawa, no update since..
tracking hasn't been enabled yet..

hoping for the best here, so far strike has been pushed so looks like this week might be okay but next week uncertain.

Mine arrived in Ottawa on Friday June 17 in the morning, and it was sent back out late in the day Monday June 27. It arrived the following afternoon, and by the afternoon after that, she had landed.

thanks Mightytonewheel, I liked the way you described it.
Your passport was dispatched on the 7th day after receival in Ottawa, by that calculation my wifes passport should be sent on Wednesday,
this is just an assumption :) hoping no strike occurs :)

Regards,

strike is not gonna happen over night; canadapost union representative will give 3 days heads up to public before the strike .hope this helps.

Regards,

Well, it looks like they could lock out the union as early as Friday. So if your passport is sent on Wednesday, you may receive it by Friday before any job action. It's also possible potential job action could be delayed past Friday. Good luck and let us know what happens.
