Need some guide here folks! Manila VO

Hi everyone! My mother is planning to visit us here in canada for the upcoming 1st birthday of my son on the 30th this month and she submitted her application last july 5,2013 until now we didnt here anything about her application and its been 13 processing days today in the philippines. The processing time is only 11 days. Is there any chance that she can get a visa before the 30th??? So worried about her application. I dont know why VO in MANILA are too slow to process the application. Its beyond 11 days and how many more days before they can make a decision?? Feeling disappointed and worried. Share your experiences please to those who applied same date like my mother in VO MANILA.

Why did she apply so late? There's an ongoing strike that's really slowing things down. There's a chance she might get the decision by then but you'll never know if they're going to approve or refuse it.

My application in the SGVO has exceeded the normal processing time and they don't even bother replying my emails.

Because the new VAC IN MANILA told her its only 11 days processing its only a visit visa application and shouldn't take too much time of wait. Its the 15th day today. Sigh

11 days is like 11 business days excluding weekends and with the strike on going it will surely be delayed.my mom submitted application last June 24 and still no reply until now.

I know what 11 business days mean myza thats why i told that its on the 15th day now. I just checked the it a while ago and it seems that my mom need to undergo medical examination which i dont know why. She only applied for Visit Visa to make the processing way shorter and does not include medical. Sigh

Unfortunately the VAC did not inform you to expect delays due to the PAFSO strike. Wondering why this notice was not posted more prominently in the CEM homepage to guide applicants. Even the VAC site did not show this up more prominently so that applicants are aware - the VAC is relatively new.

As to the medical examination - did you get an official request for her to under medical examination?

Check if the intended visit duration does fall under the critieria needing IMEs even for TRVs/visitor visas (see here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-temp.asp) and if it does, wait for the official request from CEM before proceeding further to next steps.

hi, my mother also applied for visit visa, the only difference from your situation was we sent it through courier on June 22, 2013. We decided not to apply through VAC since during that time there was a notice that VAC was closing and another one will reopen by July 3. So I told my mother to not wait until July 3 and to just send it by courier directly to Manila embassy. I am hoping and praying that she gets approved by the month of August because I need her to be here before I give birth. We sent an email to inquire about the application but up to now no reply yet. Please inform me about your mom's application soon! God bless and good luck to us. Thanks

My mom did her ME last July31. Need to wait for the medical result. 4-5 days waiting time then they are the one who will forward the result to CEM.

So hows the application of your mom now?

hello, my mother got her visa Aug 4, CEM sent her passport with visa inside around july 31 thru air 21. They did not ask for medical exam, she is 55 yrs old, her visa is from July25, 2013-March 28, 2016. We're just looking for a cheaper ticket and she will fly soon. I hope all goes well with your mom. @lyn28 to make ut clear to me your mom was applied under regular visitors visa right? And you said her visa will expire until March 28, 2016? Really 2016??? Are you going to buy a round trip ticket?

yes, regular visitor visa lang yun, me too I was surprised that CEM gave her a valid visa until march 2016. Yes we are going to buy two-way ticket, yung returning ticket good for six months and pwede I-extend to 1 year. I hope next week okay na yung sa mommy mo

@lyn28 ok yun ah. Ung inalagay nman na lenght of stay ng mother mo dun sa application na pinasa nya ilang months,? i mean ung exact date?Kasi sa mommy ko nilagay namin exactly 6 months kaya siguro need nya mag undergo ng medical examination. Salamat sa pag share ng timeline ng application ng mommy mo.

@lyn28 oh i see. Since nabigyan ang mommy mo ng visa until March 2016 does it means ba pwede syang mgstay till March 2016 straight if she wants to?

I think hindi possible yun. since sa port of entry nya malamang tatanungin sya how long yung stay, six months lang sasabihin nya dahil yun lang din ung nasa invitation letter nya, then we'll try to apply for an extension of stay dito na sa Canada.
