Hi, Im new here in this website. I need help regarding my permanent residence application under the live in caregiver program. I send my application May 2011 and they start the processing June 2011. I received my letter stating that the decision was made July 2, 2013. But they need certain documents from me and that is to get a police clearance from where I reside from past 6 months and up. I am currently working now in Alberta and I tried the link they provided me on how to obtain a police clearance from my previous work in Saudi Arabia. Unfortunately the website they gave me linking directly to Ottawa Saudi Embassy said that they no longer provide police clearance and have to go directly to the police authorities in Saudi Arabia. I was hoping someone here might have the same problem and might be able to help me out. I only have given time to provide the documents and I don't want to run out of time. If anyone here would be very kind to assist me and I will gladly appreciate it very much. Thanks

Hi Sugarspice,

See message below cut and paste form CIC website

"If you live outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Consult the nearest Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for information on how to obtain a police certificate.

If your application is being processed in Canada, you are not required to obtain a police certificate until the Case Processing Centre sends you a police certificate request letter. For instructions on how to apply for a police certificate, consult the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia located in Ottawa: http://www.saudiembassy.net/services/document_regulations.aspx"

Thanks Jondebaser, I did follow all the links but the embassy of saudi arabia in ottawa said they no longer provide police clearance and just go directly to the police authorities. Its quiet confusing. I had an old police clearance with fingerprints from saudi arabia before I left there. Its in arabic but when I phone CIC they said it might be expired already because I had it years ago. The "decision made" already on my PR application. The police clearance is the last requirements they needed to get my final papers. Its quiet upsetting how they overlooked the difficulty if getting one from saudi arabia. I hope someone might know what to do.

sugarprice, i wish i could help you...i know how you feel...i've been in the same situation few years ago...but i was asked to provide a police certificate from taiwan though because that's where i worked prior to coming here...good thing is i have friends there who applied in my behalf with of course, my authorization letter and other supporting documents...and police certificate in taiwan can still be requested through mail, which i did prior to submitting my pr application...all i can offer is my prayers that this will pass...if, by all means, you cannot obtain a police clearance from saudi, just provide a letter of explanation and other supporting documents to prove that you did your best to comply but unfortunately, there is no way for you to personally go to saudi and obtain a police clearance...the cic does their own investigation so i think, they will understand...in the first place, you wouldn't be admitted to canada if you haven't provided your police clearance before...good luck!c",)

Thanks Natsy, your right...ive gone too far to lose hope. I am just hoping they will accpet an old police clearance. As far as I know KSA wont release a PCC because im no longer there. Its almost 4 years when I left there. They did not asked when I submitted my PR application but they did now to finally complete the application. Until the very last they still request things you dont expect. But no complains I guess, got the last step hopefully.

sugarspice: this is what i got:

7. Saudi Police Clearance Requirements (No Fees) Police clearance reports are no longer process through either the Embassy or the Consulates of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Requests for police clearance should be submitted to the appropriate Saudi authorities through the applicant’s embassy or consulate in Saudi Arabia. Do not submit any requests to either the Embassy or Consulates in the United States.
• U.S. citizens need to contact their appropriate U.S. agency, which will forward the request to the U.S. Embassy or Consulates in Saudi Arabia for submission to Saudi authorities for processing.
• Non-U.S. citizens residing in the United States need to contact their embassy or consulate in the U.S. for information as to how to forward the request to Saudi authorities through their embassy or consulate in Saudi Arabia.

try contacting your embassy here and see if they could help you...c",)
