Hi,
I need some help here.
My wife and I are both Canadian citizens. She is also Irish, so she is registered and has been working in Norway and I am here through EEU/EEA family immigration. She will be having a baby here in Norway in about 2 weeks. I have been offered a job in the UK, which I can easily get a work visa for, but the job starts shortly after the baby is born.
We want to move to the UK as soon as possible, but need the necessary documents (Passport) for the baby to travel. I have been reading on a few threads that we can apply for the baby's certificate of Canadian citizenship, and at the same time apply for a 2-year limited validity passport for the baby.
My questions are:
Do we need to show travel plans (flight receipts, itinerary) in order to be approved for a limited validity passport, even with the baby being under 2 years old? Or is that requirement only for people who have lost their passports abroad?
Do we use the same application form "PPTC042" to apply for the baby's limited validity passport? - https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/ircc/migration/ircc/english/passport/forms/pdf/pptc042.pdf
If not, is there another application form for the limited validity passport?
Also, do we need to include a letter explaining our situation, in order to be approved for the limited validity passport for the baby? Or is the baby being under 2, and fulfilling the requirement for simply applying for the Canadian citizenship enough?
Thank you in advance for your help.
