Need Help to add New born baby to my existing PR application

Hello Senior,

I have below queries to add the new born baby to existing PR Application

1. As I am in INDIA to add new born baby, As per the CEC Rules I need to have Baby Birth Certificate and Passport
but as per the Indian passport rules, to get the baby's passport either of the spouse( husband or wife) name should be added in their passport before applying for baby's passport.

So to satisfy the above criteria, I need to apply for reissuing the of Wife( dependent applicant) passport but name in new passport would change from the one which I origanally submitted with the PR application.
when I sumbmitted the application, In my wife passport has her father's name.However, Existing passport details which I submitted for PR application would be cancelled and new passport would be provided.
I am Sep 2013 Applicant.

So It Would be highly appreciated if seniors could help me or advise me to proceed with this suitation and whether it would affect my application if I sumbmit my wife passport with new details?

Congrats on your new born..... Happy Parenting.

Get the new updated passport for your wife and also get your daughter's passport, once you get these, send the photocopies of the new passports with a covering letter explaining the change of name. Since the change of name is due to marriage, I believe there should not be any issues for you.

I also changed my passport (but no name change) and had no issues with the proceedings.

Please ensure that when you send the photocopies, send a covering letter with all your details like AOR, UCI, etc and also mention the AOR number on top of your envelope.

P.S - I sent my courier through India Speedpost but it look almost 25 days to reach Canada, so, better try DHL.

Why would you need to apply for re-issue of Passport? I was in same situation and my wife added my name to her passport, meaning my name was printed in one of the passport pages as Spouse name added. Then she applied for my kids passport. IS that rule no more?

Hi ,

I am also in similar situation. Due to my new born baby, i had to re-apply for my wife's passport to add my name. This is a new rule to issue minors passport.

But , for me I have already received my medicals and now need to update the application with my new born child.
