Hie everyone I'm new here,

I just want to ask that 9.5-10 lacs Indian rupees will be enough for 2 years of PG Diploma courses in Canada in Management/Finance/Business? Including all Cost from tuition fees to accommodation cost and all other small costs like transportation cost, meal etc related to it. Please let me know, who has already done all this stuff.

I'm thinking to apply in January 2016 intake.

Multiply by 2. And, that's enough for 'everything'.

@ J5M

For every course which is of 2 years total expenses will remain same, I mean around 18-20 lakhs??
There will be courses which will need less money ?

Buddy u need 6 lacs for living of one year + your college fee which should b near around 8-9 lacs per year..(most of colleges)
If you are applying for one year programme even then u need 15 lacs..
Rest you can calculate..
You can try Concordia university..education is very cheap in Quebec as compared to other provinces...

I had the same illusion and here are some real facts based on my experience.

1. Dont Trust these agencies or study abroad consultants fully. Always keep 5lakh extra (They usually hide stuff)

2. Apply or try other universities. These agents get a good margin of profit from ur course fee, I was being only given high-cost university in the list of "approved by CIC" for your case. Rubbish... CIC website itself has 200hundred colleges :)

3. Costs - remember most college websites dont write "cost per year" or full fees. They just say 2015-16 cost.. which means it is FOR ONE YEAR> I was shocked when I saw that amount was PER YEAR. But ok.. atleast better to know in advance.

4. Living exp - see for urself.. rental in canada - PG or shared is $450 per month minimum. Plus food + bills etc. My cousin said keep an average of $850+$950 min monthly expenses includes outside rentals (not hostel)

5. Pre-application process- Like your IELTS prep, Fees, Medical fees, Visa application, IELTS TEst fees etc will also cost you a good amount of 45,000 INR to the max. Depends on ur city.

6. After college you have to find a job - 90days for that - so keep that in mind. (Home rental expires then landlord charges more, also note - home rent increase 10% every year - worldwide rule it is. )

7. Total cost:
Pre-application Indian exp: INR 45000/-
Tuition Fee & Edu - $20,000 to 37,000 -- Full-Time TWO YEARS - depends on course
College Addons - books etc -- $2000 - Appx depends on ur course and subjects. Email college for info
Medical Ins - $1500 I think - Check with college - guard.me is also one plan - check per year and short term or long term.
Living Exp: $20000 - Full Two years on average if you live comfortably
Bank Loan Interest India - Add (also the bonus u will pay to officer to get it approved if its govt bank.. lol)

Now decide... add all the above and think. If you want to bet 30-35 Lakhs for 2yrs without job guarantee.. or would u buy real estate and sell it after two yrs with that amount in India.. what makes sense... Money or Quality of Country ?

@sammy3 - Thank you for the suggestion of affordable education there :) Yes I had read about Selkirk College in this forum where I was searching for "cheap" education (Sorry to use that word, thats how indians use it here.. cheap means low cost, not quality always)

SO please can you throw some light on the value of the credentials - in terms of job prospects.
I had enquired with Georgian college and it was WAY TOO expensive. What was worse, I found one of their rep. snobbish!
But I was told thats the best... if thats the best then why did it hurt me !! anyways.. I am also looking for options.

Please if you could share the link of that post where there was a list of low-fee colleges.

Thanks in advance.

God bless u

Hi,

I don't have any link but i can give you some options,

1. Selkrik College
2. Northern Lights College
3. Camosun College
4. FDU Vancouver

Rest most of the colleges have similar fee structure for a 2 year post degree diploma. If you wanted to get good quality education then try for good universities. But they have high admission requirements and fees. So decide according to your profile. As i don't know about your profile i cant say more.

As far as i researched every colleges are having good and bad reviews except one (Red river college Alberta).

If your ultimate goal is PR, then an average college would be fine. Go for University if possible.

When are you planning to apply?

Regards,
Sammy
