Hi,

As per the new criteria for the evaluation of the education in FSW program it is mentioned as

Prospective applicants would be required to have their foreign educational credentials assessed and would be awarded points based on the equivalent completed Canadian educational credential

As i understand this evaluation is required for all type of professional degrees. Please confirm.

Also I have done Btech in Electronics and communication which is a 4 year course. How i can get the evaluation done for my degree. Is there any special agencies for these type of evaluation.

Thanks in Advance

visit cic.gc.ca and find the authorised evaluators of degrees. ys u r right they need evelation prior to the application. NEKEOL

Hello NEKEOL,

Yes there is " International qualification assessment service " in short known as IQAS.
I have taken this service for my credential assessment.

u may send photocopies attested by notary public, with a nominal fee. within a month or so u will
receive the result of assessment. Its GOOD and recommended by Ca-immigration office.for further details check the below stated link.
best of luck

You can also use the World Education Services (WES) to evaluate your degrees. They are accepted by Canada. Just visit their website and they will tell you how it works.

My wife has used them in the past. They're great.

Yes, but until CIC states which companies are acceptable to credential evaluation, it is useless to send them to anyone.

At the time we did it, WES was accpeted by them. If that has changed since, I am not aware.

Thanks a lot for the replies.
Just to conclude those who want to apply under FSWP program in Jan 2013 they all have to wait for Canadian government to announce authorized agencies so that degrees can be evaluated.

Kindly confirm

Thanks

I also used WES and it was accepted and it added more value to my file, because it was not compulsory.

They do not mention anywhere about date on which they will announce the new FSWP to come to effect and organizations that will do credentials assessment. CIC website says "early 2013", not mid-January.

It could be January, or may be February or may March or even later, who knows !
