Hi Everyone,
So I arrived into Canada on the 8th March 2014 on my 2 year Irish IEC Visa and have been working full time since I arrived and have applied for the BC PNP on 2nd July 2015 with processing times stating I will not be accepted until around may 2016. My Work Permit Expires on the 7th March 2016 and am planning on going back to Ireland on Vacation from 10th January til 27th January. I know I will have to extend my work permit but does anyone think there will be any problems getting back into Canada so close to my expiration of my current work permit?
Any help or information would be appreciated!

Not a problem. Border officer may warn you that you need to extend your work permit but cbsa wont deny entry as long as your wp is valid.

Nope, you should have no issues. I did this many times on my WHV.

The BC PNP processing times are 4-5 months, someone in the PNP forum that applied on the 2nd of July also visited the office and was told about a week ago that he can expect to be processed in the next fortnight.

So fingers crossed, you might have an answer from BC PNP soon!

Thanks guys!

I called customs and immigration today and they said it should be fine too. The lady I spoke to said that it might be a good idea to bring a letter from my employer who is supporting me through my PNP explaining that I will still have full time work when I get back from vacation and I have submitted PNP and will extend my working visa when I get back. Just as security just in case I have problems it might help.

Thats Excellent news! I hope its the same for me. I cant find Processing times for the 200 July 2nd PNP applicants anywhere. Also you said they visited an office and that is when they were told that they can expect their PNP soon? where was this office?

You have my hopes up that my PNP will not be as long as i expected so thanks Ozlis!

Which stream did you apply for? There is no 200 cap on the BC Express Entry applicants, only the Entrepreneur Stream.

Here are the updated processing times http://www.welcomebc.ca/Immigrate/About-the-BC-PNP/About-the-BC-PNP/Processing-Times.asp

The PNP office is in Vancouver.

I applied for Skills Immigration and there was a 200 limit when the PNP reopened in July. The Express Entry was not affected with a cap and continued as normal along with a few other categories as far as I know. Nothing seems to be certain with the BC PNP now its all kind of up in the air which is super shitty I wish we all knew what was going on haha

The link you sent me is coming up as 404 - File or directory not found. I looked at the Processing times on welcome bc which I'm sure is the same link you sent me but has nothing for the 200 applicants of July 2nd, where i did see the 4-5 months processing times was Express entry and I couldnt apply through that.

Ah righto, I thought that the Skilled stream was a part of the Express Entry - I applied for Express Entry Skilled Worker.

What was the difference do you know?
