Need help: Applying from study permit from Bangladesh

Hi,

I have specific problem regarding my funding situation. I have received an offer from UBC for master's degree and my supervisor has sent me a signed letter stating that a total of $19,000/year (tuition fee is $8,108) will be provided to me in the form of a combination of TA-ship, RA-ship and fellowship if I do not hold major scholarship. It would be a big help if you could help me with the following queries:

1. Can I use the letter as a form of financial support? If yes, do I need to show more money in my bank account? (I know more support would make it easier but I want to know if this letter is ok)

2. If I need to show bank account statement, then for how long the money should be there? If I transfer money from other accounts and my relatives wants to give money in my account to support my study, do I need to provide any form of supporting document?

3. I did not find any option if I need to provide police certificate and medical test in the CIC website while uploading documents for study permit. Are they necessary if the office do not ask for them?

Why you are applying online , it is a time consuming procedure better apply by VFS, Dhaka, they are more help full, I will also submit my application this week, I am also University full supported student at MUN. If possible show you bank status to prove that you are also capable to continue you study if any problem happen in Uv support or discontinue.

Thank you for your reply.

I didn't know online application is more time consuming than paper submission. I found it easier to apply through online which may take 7 weeks at this moment.

It is interesting that paper submission is less time consuming and now i am thinking of applying through vfs canada office. can you tell me about when you did your medical exam and do you need a police verification certificate?

It would be a big help if you could help me.

I already received my Police clearance certificate from DMP last week and original copy is mandatory for application . My plan is to submit my application by 2nd May, Tomorrow i will do my Upfront medical, so it will reduce my processing time. I hope by this time other papers will be ready. If every thing will ok then they will ask only for passport.
Last year Fall My nice went to Calgary so know the procession time, it was almost 2.5 month.

Great to hear that you have already applied for study permit. Congrats to you.

I was wandering that if you are sure it requires more time to get permit in applying online compared to applying through paper submission. I called VFS office and they said it shall take equal time.

I am trying to get my documents ready and already getting agitated. ???

Hi submitted my application and auto email confirmed that it reached in Singapore office. According to the website our study permit application processing time is 8 weeks. Are you working or fresh student? I needed little long time to submitted my application because I had to appear in IELTS exam. i got my IELTS result in 29 April. I received my offer letter in 16 Dec, 2015, MUN gave me language waver but some people told me that i need it for visa so i had to do hard work to qualify for that because i am currently working and need to travel lot. I prefer paper based application because it is convenient for me, they checked all my document and arranged accordingly and i can do my bio same date there. if you apply online you also have to go VSF center for bio. prepare you doc as quick as possible.if possible do upfront medical also.

I got my offer letter on April 04, and funding letter on April 08. I am yet to get my PCC. I delayed because I had to get my passport renewed.

Hoping for the best. Hope you'll get the visa in time. My course will start on Sept 01 and I am getting a bit nervous if I am late.

I am giving it a second thought if I should apply through paper or online application. Yes, I have to go for bio-metrics.

Actually it is not like formal visa interview, i faced in my life lot of visa interview. It is just a cordial conversation related all my research plan, my carrier objective, finalization about Canada and new Newfoundland etc.

I heard that now a day they called most of the funded student for interview, may be they want to see us and want to guess whether we are look like a terrorist or not ( ha ha ha, very funny)

Got one notification that my application has been updated. But after checking in the CIC account, I found it all the same.

how to show FDR documents?

1. Do i have to translate FDR documents? or only payslips or full sonchoypotro/ savings certificate ?

i passed my BSc engineer in 2014 31st aug. its almost 2 years by now.

4. do i ve to show work experience ?
i ve work experience . my employer didn't pay me through bank account so i want to avoid this . i am showing property and FDR as country ties.
is their any problem, if i dnt show any employment history.

George Brown College, Construction management (PGD 1 year), IELTS 6.5, L-7.5,R-6,W-6,S-7.
tuition fee CAD 22200.
living cost CAD 9900(12month) according to Homestay
transportation cost CAD 2000
Plane fare CAD 2000
material + other cost CAD 3000
Total Cost CAD 39,200
I will be showing around CAD 43k in bank account , BDT 1core in the form of FDR. 3core of property .
i am only son, all this inherited to me. my father is retired , main income source is interest from FDR.
12lac FDR and around 30lac of property in my name. all this tax paid.

not much travel history , been to USA in 2006 (J1 visa), different passport , couple of times to India.

how to show FDR documents?

1. Do i have to translate FDR documents? or only payslips or full sonchoypotro/ savings certificate ?

You can show your and your parents' FDR (fixed deposit receipt) as source of fund. Contact your Bank/financial institution on how you get a statement.

A notarized certification+deeds of the property would be enough. For your parents' property, you'll need a notarized declaration from your parents' stating that "They shall support you". You can consult notary public, he/she can give you more detail.

Each and every document you'll provide, they need to be translated if they are not in English/French.

4. do i ve to show work experience ?

It's good if you can show you have a job and you'll join after you finish studying, but not a requirement. However, you have to have a strong reason to tell visa officer about your study gap on letter of explanation.

FYI, minimum source of fund you need to show tuition+10k (for living), bank account statement for 4 months is more convenient easy way to show source of fund.
