Need Guidance

Hello,

I have recently moved to Canada on an open work permit (along with my husband who is studying on a student permit). I have an offer for a full-time job as a mortgage officer with one of big financial companies here. Can I apply for a permanent residency now under the FSW program? What will be the process? Do I need anything from my employer?

Please note that I have a 4 yr Bachelors degree and close to 4 years of work experience.

Under FSW:
If you can get a letter from Current employer stating u'll be absorbed permanently upon receiving PR, you can apply(Under Arranged Employment). Else, you should work for 1 year in Canada, or has 1 Year experience in 38 listed NOC jobs.

I was under the impression that AEO is taken before a job is offered to a candidate. In my case, I have already been offered a job based on the fact that I have an open work permit. Can my employer ask for an AEO after offering me a job? Is there anyway that I can get my offer certified from HRSDC on my own without requiring my employer to intervene?

What you need is a letter from your Employer, stating you will be employed indeterminately upon getting PR. You can't get HRSDC approval, only your employer can do. I know that, few jobs are exempt from HRSDC approval, say IT jobs.
