Just realized I had made a mistake in the timeline:

2nd furtherance done: 6th June, 2013 (I incorrectly mentioned it as 6th March, 2013)

Thanks Gauravk!

A furtherance is when CIC requires you to clear a doubt they have in your medical exam. It could be another test, or a consultation with a specialist.

Ohh so i submitted my medicals yesterday i.e on 19th June upon their request. So when can i expect the work permit according to you provided i don't receive any furtherance?

Also wondering if anyone knows when should my spouse expect to receive the decision email. I hope it will be an approval, I'm really nervous at the moment!! :-X

Did you guys apply together? My spouse and I got it at the same time. Congratulations on your WP, hoping the best for your spouse!

EDIT: Answer to the first question: Yes, we applied together. Did you and your spouse apply for an OWP?

vishsang is right. That's about the norm. Though in my case, the initial medical request took a little over a month.

I applied for a CWP/ LMO-exempt on 10th April via registered post/courier (not via VFS), and I received medical requests day before yesterday i.e. on 18th June.

Hi Everyone, Good day .. Today I have received my passport with visa . They have issues the visa for one year ( till Aug 2014). Actually my passport will get expire in Aug 2014. Do you think that is the reason they have issued for one year only.Because I think we can work for 2 yeas on work permit(correct me if I am wrong). Can any one post for how many years they have got the work permit in Open work permit category?

Cheers
sudhakar

Congratulations sudkak! Yes, that's the reason (mine is approved till 2015, that's two years as my PP is valid till 2017). But you can always renew your PP in Canada and get the WP and TRV extended. Your employer may have to apply for an LMO again next year.
