ND Work Permit Processing Time since February 2012?

Applied for Open Work Permit -- Jan 4 2013
Medical request from NDVO -- June 10 2013
Submitted Medicals on -- 13 June 2013
Approved mail received on -- 18 June 2013

And in between May 24th I got a call from NDVO and they informed me that they are waiting for my medicals though I did not get any communication from them. Then they have couried the medical request letter through VFS. So after waiting for 5 months finally I heard the news
All the best for everyone .. please be patience .. I have sent many e- mails asking for staus in these 5 montsh and and I never get any reply from NDVO.

I am new to this forum

Have applied my spouse OWP on 6th May .

My husband currently holds a valid work permit till Sep 2013.
Meanwhile he has also got his study permit for 2 years for 2013-15.

I have send my last medical report ( Dated 12th Dec 2012) along with the visa application via VFS , Mumbai on 6th May .

Awaiting for reply on my application .

Any idea that how long is this strike going to be continued ????

I've applied OWP on 6th Feb, Med.Requested:5th June, Med.Sent:13th Jun. Mine case is almost similar to you.
Awaiting for mail.

I have applied on 24th January, 2013 for OWP-S and after that nothing from NDVO. Still waiting for reply of case specific inquiry made before 2 months.

Yes my husband was lucky as he applied before the strike and received his visa... Atleast I am hopeful seeing that many visas are being approved though it is taking time.. I am not sure how long I have to wait as I have just applied before 2 weeks. Best of luck for those who have applied and awaiting their own visas!!!

Finally received the WP approval email today! But my spouse hasn't received any email yet. Does it typically arrive later? Can anyone shed some light on that please? It's a dependent TRV. Have my fingers crossed until hers is approved..

Applied for CWP/LMO and TRV: 11th January, 2013
Medical request: 25nd February, 2013
Medicals done: 5th March, 2013
1st furtherance: 13th March, 2013
1st furtherance done: 15th March, 2013
2nd furtherance: 10th April, 2013 (instructions required me to wait for 3 months from 1st medical exam)
2nd furtherance done: 6th June, 2013
Approval email for CWP/LMO: 20th June, 2013
Approval email for TRV (dependent): Waiting...

Congrats first of all. I've recently submitted my medicals but I want to know what exactly is the meaning of furtherance? When do they ask for it?

A furtherance is when CIC requires you to clear a doubt they have in your medical exam. It could be another test, or a consultation with a specialist.
