Hello every1,

Congratz Vishsang. I am a new member of this forum, let me share my timeline with u all

I have submitted my WP application on 3rd April till now there is no update from the Canadian High Commission.

We should understand one thing, March, April, May and June are the busiest months of the year, All the the applicants of March, April and May suppose to be processed in June but our bad luck there is a strike is going on. Lets hope that the strike will come to an end soon and we will get our Visa Very Soon. :)

Very true. I should say we got stuck due to strike...else august and November months are also busiest when students apply.
I don't know what will happen to the embassy then if the strike continues.

Maximum admissions happen in Fall (September), therefore, max student applications are being processed during this time.

August 1st is deadline for student visas .

Most of the colleges, Universities will heavily join students for September intake. Obviously June, July are the busiest months in the whole year of NDVO.

another thing severely impacting processing of work visas is Strike of Foreign officials

after 2.5 months withdrew application. got passport back.

They are returning passport despite strike.

Your spouse is very lucky that his visa was processed so quickly. I guess everyone else, including you yourself, are experiencing effects of the strike.

Hi Maple
Her husband applied on study permit...usually takes between 5- 15days.
So its normal. Work permit usually takes a longer time..

OK, maybe. I'm not really familiar with Study Permits. But in any case, madu1107 has applied for a SOWP which puts her in the same category as us.

On a related note, I feel sad that every time I open the forum - its the same story all over again. "I applied for my WP/Visitor visa on XYZ date, still haven't heard anything", "no reply after medicals", "my emails are not being replied to", "it's been over 3 months".

Being on the same boat and having waited longer than many, I'm left with more questions than answers. No one should have to go through this.

Hi All,
Good day , Yesterday I have received the mail stating that my application for work permit has been approved. And also it was mentioned that visa will be issued upon arrival in Canada.. I thought they will issue work permit visa . Anybody suggest what is the further process .. I have applied for Open work permit under PNP Ontario.

You will get a TRV stamp on your passport and can travel with this stamp. The first time you land in Canada, right after immigration you will have to go to a different desk where they will issue you a Work Permit letter. This will state which company you can work for, when the work permit expires etc.
