ND Work Permit Processing Time since February 2012?

Folks -
i was in US and moved directly to Canada on ICT Work permit , My wife went back to india from US and got medical done on Nov 7 and my employer filed my spouse Open work permit on 4th dec ,2012. Below is the status i can see online :

Passport received at Canadian High Commission, 7/8 SHANTIPATH, CHANKYAPURI, -, NEW DELHI, Pin:110021, Tel: on 05/12/2012 and is under processing.

i have asked my employer to check with High commission, looking forward to see if anyone applied for OWP for spouse and waiting for decision.

Have u submitted the application along with medicals on 4 th dec or after the first approval . Please share your complete timelines as I have also submitted my medicals on 7 nov aft the first approval .

Neetu - i am not sure how you guys submit the file. My employer hired an attorney and they do our work.
In my case Employer gave letter addressing to hospital stating my spouse have to got to canada and for that medical test is required. she flew to India from US on 5th Nov and got medical done on 7th Nov.

I flew to Canada during Nov end and shared my WP copy with employer and they submitted Spouse open work permit file on Dec 4 and which started showing under processing from Dec 5, 2012.

Yesterday,I have asked my employer Immigration department to send email to High commission to check the status.I am waiting for them to share what they got from high commission.

Also , many employee get their WP in 1-3 weeks until Sept , after sept Delay is noticed. May be due to student visas.

Hope to get something positive by Jan mid.

My application was also submitted by my spouse company earlier .But they submitted it for visitor visa( as dependent ) with medicals and i got the visa in less than 15 days .
Later on i applied for Spousal open work permit.Even though at that time we tried for SOWP but they refused and filed the application for visitor visa .

In your case just check whether they have applied for spousal open work permit or Independent work permit or any other special case ? Please get the details verified with them .
Because if they applied for independent work permit then LMO and job offer will be required. This is Just a pointer to get some update .

Neetu one more thing..have you submitted your medicals directly at VFS and they sent it to CHC or was it DMP.
If it was DMP then please check with them that when have they forwarded the medical reports .

i have done my medicals in fortis bangalore and confirmed from VFS , medicals are sent directly from the hospital to chc and i hope they have sent it as status in VFS shows that chc has received my passport , i have even mailed chc but as usual there is no reply

Priya, all this while I have been thinking why did you apply for open work permit when you already had a TRV. You could have applied for the OWP at the port of entry. They would have issued you there itself after paying them CAD$ 150.

actually I was serving my notice period in India and my employer was not ready to release me early and as per vfs processing time was 1 month and I had 2 months notice left,I thought its good idea to apply from India as I will be visa ready
