I have received a mail from promotions@gnb.ca to attend an information session in Cairo on July 23. I am an Indian residing in India. I have the following queries:
1) They are asking for a registration id. Is this the 2 digit submission ID I received after signing up for the session?
2)The website says that applicants from India will not be authorised as they will be conducting a session in India soon. Still, I have received an invite.
3) I am a banker. Would I stand a chance in getting a PNP as my occupation is not in their demand list?
Thanks in advance.
1. Yes it is.
2. Did you ask for permission to attend the session before registering?
If you did and received a reply to attend, then I guess they are aware that you reside in India.
3. No one can guess chances. you just have to try you luck and hope for the best. But it is written, that if they reply you to attend, they think your attendance will generate some kind of positive response from them.

I have received a confirmation by NB to attend their session in Cairo, 23/07/2016

Can you please add me to the Whatsapp group 00201062298472

I did not ask for permission as it was not mentioned on their website when I registered. Howver the regn form does contain a field ( country).

I received a mail with Urgent written in the subject line with the date, time and venue details. is this the final mail or do we need some other mail. Many people in India are saying this is an auto generated email. Is it true?

This might be a dumb question but...
How did you enter your answer to the question "why are you a good candidate for NB?" since only numbers are allowed?

BTW, any advice on how to respond to this question if none of the three options apply?

Thanks! :D

I plan to keep it blank and attach a free form letter stating my work experience (kinda what you respond to job interview thing). I never been to NB

I'm also having an application under process with Ontario, should I mention that?

Do they look forward to candidate having done some research about the province? do they test such knowledge?

Do I have to take a PoF along?

I just found this in the guide:

Applications are not accepted from applicants who:
•Have an application in process under another immigration program in Canada;

will this be a problem given that I'm also having an application under process with Ontario? (I'm not nominated and no news about the outcome yet)

Well I don't think you are invited. It doesn't matter when you registered. It is clearly written on their website about India attendees.
They might have sent you the location thinking you are a resident where it's been held. There are cases where people registration were cancelled after they made arrangements to travel without asking for permission or receiving permission to attend.
Someone called NB recently and was informed to not attend if he didn't get a reply from them saying"you are welcome to attend".
If I were in your shoes, I would wait till they hold a session in India later this year like they mentioned on their site.

They have turned away people who flew all the way to attend a session.. It would be best to formally ask for permission first just to be clear.
Due to the sheer amount of applicants from India, I'm pretty sure NB has set aside various info sessions in India on the 3rd or 4th quarter.

Hi NS RMP,

That mail is part of the normal process which they send the location details once the location is finalised. But for Indians we have to separately send a request mail for permission from NB to attend the session. You can followup with NB about the mail you have sent for permission to attend. Without that mail which says "You are welcome to attend" you cannot attend the session.

For what I heard so far, is that for Indians residing in India they are not giving permission to attend as they are holding sessions in India in the later part of the year. For Indians currently residing in other countries they are giving permission to attend.
