Hum, interesting. I just find it very sketchy. Nowhere in their website there's such information. And that's not an "informal" situation as to not be disclosed at their website. I've stayed till the very end of the information session here in Brazil, until everyone left the room (I was one of the last ones to leave the room, and I was talking to the two gentlemen which were doing all the speaking) and none of that was mentioned whatsoever.

Also I've never heard of such thing as a verbal ITA. There has to be official communication (not to mention documentation) of that sort of stuff.

But, who knows! People from the Philippines could be awarded some special treatment and the rest of the world not, LoL...

As far as I understand the Phillipines is the only country so far that is given priority in verbal invitations. You are right that such thing as verbal ITA is not mentioned on the website at all and when I attended the session in February no ITAs were given on the spot. But those who were registered for Phillipines sessions received confirmation e-mails and there was the information about verbal ITAs. I saw such an e-mail, I guess someone posted it here.

Nope haven't requested my ECA yet. Will be doing that in the next couple of days. I'm not sure about the July 25 deadline but I plan to submit everything in a week or so.

We're not supposed to send an EOI via email anymore right?

I have already requested my ECA today. Also I have sent my EOI through e-mail just to be sure. BTW what time did you attended the info session?

Really, if you received verbal ITA I don't understand why you are sending EOI again. Verbal ITA is better than your sending EOI, and they reply you in 2 months, or more.

I just want to make sure. But is there such a thing as Verbal ITA? Because i've heard from the other representative from NB that they need to send their EOI as well through e-mail.

You do not need to send. Since you were given verbal ITA after interview during the information session. Go ahead and send your application please. No need to waste time waiting for their reply to your EOI again.

Alright. Good luck.

kalpan,

A verbal ITA is, well... an Invitation to Apply that is given to you verbally by NB representatives (not via email like most people do). Attend the Information Sessions scheduled in various countries first. People attending these sessions who already have IELTS and ECAs will be interviewed by the representatives on the spot. Bring a printout of the EOI form as well.

If they deem your credentials to be sufficient, they will get the EOI form you printed out, mark it with a number, and tell you to launch a full application.

NB holds info sessions and those with (1) filled up EOI Form; (2) IELTS; (3) ECA are asked to stay after the session for a brief interview.
If the officer deems you fit based on the 67 point requirement, they will tell you to submit a full application to NB in 45 days - this is the verbal invitation to apply. You won't receive any reference number, email, or anything from them. Just a verbal instruction to send the application to NB.

This is convenient because if you send your EOI via email, you will wait 2 to 3 months before they ask you to send a full application.
