Hi Guys,

Can anyone guide on process for NBNP EOI? The points for which I would like clarification are:
1. Is Job offer from NB mandatory? There are some forums, which say it is not mandatory for IT professionals. My job code is 2173.
2. Is French as first language mandatory?
3. Any idea about their immigration seminar in India?

TIA.
1. Job offer ia not mandatory. But being the in-demand occupation list is, unless you have Relatives in NB or already Work in NB
2. NO.
3. They had sessions earlier this year in India but currently there are none scheduled. Keep checking livinginnb.ca for updates

Hi I think job offer is not mandatory provided you have French as your first language?

I got it from their email when I sent my EOI:
PLEASE NOTE:

We are only accepting EOIs from people currently working in New Brunswick OR from potential applicants who demonstrate French as a first language, proven by a Test d’évaluation de francais (TEF), and with experience in the occupations listed on our website.
Please continue to monitor our website for any future changes.

Oh okay. Sorry I misunderstood! Although just want to confirm that for NBNP, you need to have relatives in NB OR have French for your first language before they send you EOI. Is this correct?
Thank you

No problem

Currently, yes, that is the case. However, NBPNP does open temporarily at certain times to allow those who have attended information sessions to submit EOIs. The last 2 times were on 31 January 2018 and 01 May 2018

The Atlantic Canada province of New Brunswick has updated the priority occupations list for its Express Entry Labour Market Stream.

This is the fourth opening of the Express Entry New Brunswick Labour Market Stream since September 2017 that has targeted Information and Communications Technology workers, among others.

The updated list includes 19 occupations, nine of which are new additions:

OCCUPATION NOC
Senior managers – financial, communications and other business services 0013

New Brunswick’s Express Entry Labour Market Stream allows the province to select eligible candidates in the federal Express Entry system and invite them to apply for a provincial nomination.

Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination from New Brunswick receive an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System points toward their Express Entry score.

In addition to work experience in one of the above occupations, candidates must currently meet one of the following criteria, among others defined by the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP):

  • Are currently employed in New Brunswick or have a job offer from a New Brunswick company that is designated Skill Type O, Skill Level A or Skill Level B under Canada’s National Occupational Classification (NOC); OR
  • Have a child, brother, sister, parent, grandparent, uncle or aunt living in New Brunswick who is at least 18 years old and has lived in the province for at least one year as a permanent resident or citizen of Canada; OR
  • Demonstrate French as first language, proven by a Test d’évaluation de français (TEF).
To be considered under this stream, you must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the NBPNP.

The NBPNP will only consider Expressions of Interest to this category from candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for the Federal Skilled Worker Class and score a minimum of 67 points out of 100 in the FSWC selection factors. All applicants must also meet the eligibility criteria for the Express Entry New Brunswick Labour Market Stream.

Hello all. I wish to attend Hanoi info session as my NOC is listed on that session and I'm from South East Asia. My question is, is this strictly for Vietnam residents or citizens? There is inconsistent answer to this question based on my backreadings in NB forums. Thanks

Is it specified in the registration page that it is for residents only in that country? If not, you can register as long as you have valid visa for that country. Anyway, there’s no harm trying to register because you still have to wait for email of invitation to attend with details of place, date and time.

Thank you pizzacat for the quick reply. Since I'm from SEA, looks like I don't need a visa. Yes, there is no note that this is for residents only unlike prior sessions that it was clearly mentioned. I will surely register as you suggested. Thanks and good luck to all of us!

If you want to make doubly sure, you can just email NBPNP on promotions@gnb.ca and ask about attending the Hanoi session:)
All the best with your PNP process!

You can leave both experiences on your CV, however you have to pick ONE NOC that you have at least 1 year experience in to apply with, and that NOC has to be in the in-demand occupation list.

For example, I have experience in both NOC 2174 and NOC 4011, but I chose to go with 2174 as I have more years' experience in that and also that NOC was in the in-demand occupation list.

You should not submit an EOI without at least attending a session, unless you have relatives in NB.

Thanks .. luckily both jobs are in demand list. But my concern is do I stand a chance with a job I have a past experience in cos d teaching job noc 4224 is what I intend to use, is a past experience (10yrs ago)and new Brunswick just added it to the occupation in demand list.
