National IDs issue

I am preparing for Canada Immigration after I got CSQ. In the Checklist (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5690E.pdf)

section Identity and Civil Status Documents

1) National IDs, Family/household registry/book (If applicable)

what does that mean is National IDs are mandatory?

what If I send Family/household registry/book?

Note: Comma b/w National IDs, Family/household registry/book



Please advice.
