@manu.yoganand I got my updated passport with the name split and was proceeding with the PR card application. However I do not see any normal option apart from legal name change to be selected in the document checklist. Not able to attach screenshots here, have uploaded the screenshots and here are the links:
You need to apply for renewal of PR card. Other declaration/letter that you would attach would support the renewal. DO NOT TICK ON LEGAL NAME CHANGE.

Hi, did you get your name split in Indian passport recently? Did you have to provide BLS a legal name change document or news paper ads. When I see the passport renewal checklist, it says I need to provide them supporting documents. Thanks.
Not recently, was few years ago. Didn’t have to provide any of that to BLS, simply a letter.
Thanks, not sure if they have recently changed the name split requirements. The checklist on BLS website is different from what I saw last year.
I got it done in May, attached two pieces of ID - Aadhaar and DL with the application and a letter explaining that name was wrongly printed and its split in all documents in India.
Another question regarding passport renewal. Do we need to provide our Current Canadian address as printable address on passport or we just keep our Indian address.
You will have to provide current Canadian address to be printed along with an address proof.
