HEY EVERYONE!!! Good news...my hubby got approved and he got his visa yesterday at the office. They called him the day before and asked him to pick it up the following day!!

;D ;D ;D I am so happy!! Such a relief...and it didn't even take more than 10 months!! PRAISE GOD!!

I pray a quick and painless process for all of you. May God give you the strength you need to get through this time. Just keep your head up and focus on the goal In time it will work out...

Could somebody residing outside Kenya let me know how they got their passport back from the High Commission in Nairobi. The VO has requested that we submit valid passport after the medicals and I am kind of trying to figure out how we are going to get the passport back. Has anybody ever sent a pre-paid coupon without the Embassy requested for it. OR get their passports back thru the Consolate

and they said his file is under active review
so what's the meaning of this active review?
any one with a clue please share me

Hi Jma, we got "final review" in our email. With in a couple of weeks we got our visa. So I am thinking they are looking into the file and its not sitting in some corner catching dust.

I'm getting Married on Sept 10, 2011 - Just about to start the immigration process - I think I have most of the paperwork sorted out.... Such a scare to see the 31 month processing time - God I hope I don't have to wait another 3 years to be with my husband!

Hey everyone!

This is my first post here, and I just want to tell you my wife's timeline so far:

Completed + mailed application to Nairobi - May 28, 2010
Stage 1 sponsorship approval - July 6, 2010
Started processing visa application - August 2, 2010
Request Medical exam redo + passport and photos - March 24, 2011

On Thursday, Aug. 18 2011 my lawyer called and said that Nairobi is ready to issue my wife's visa. We've arranged for Nairobi to send it, and now we're waiting for her to receive it. Our landing estimate is Sept. 15, 2011.

I'd like to thank everyone who has posted here, reading it has given me much encouragement. I hope to encourage you as well with my timeline. Hang on, you will get yours!!

june 2010 application for skilled worker
I submitted full application in june 2010 in nairobi office. I checked my status in August 2011 online, and it says "IN PROCESS". I do not understand the stages and how long it will take for me to get a reply of any sort. When will I get response for medical? Finally will they ask for proof of funds again? It has taken too long and I am worried. Anyone who knows this scenario please assist, thank you.

I've sent the application for family class - spousal this week - it will be in MISS - On Oct 31, 2011 So the application waiting starts !! Wish us luck with Nairobi office!
I am seeing very positive turn around times so my heart is praying!

I am in the process of PR application for my spouse as accompanied member of family class processed in Nairobi. I got AOR dated October 11, 2011 but they have not asked for any information from our part hoping to hear from Nairobi soon! My ecas shows that Nairobi received the application on September 19, 2011 waiting patiently for Nairobi!

Hello Nairobi applicants, i find your experiences helpful, as i am just starting spousal sponsorship via visa office Niarobi.
I sent in my applications to cpc-mississauga on October 31, 2011. ..... i am keeping my fingers and toes cross everything will go smooth.

My question is when will i first hear from CPC-M?
Will they at least notify me that they received the apps?
i know the mail courier has confirm it been received but what about cpc-m?

Hi there.

I'm new. I'm Canadian female with a Kenyan fiance. We have a 2 1/2 year old biological son who is Canadian.

I have 2 questions regarding the PR application:
Medical expiry: His medical that was submited to Nairobi in July will ALREADY be 6 months old when we submit the sponsor application to Ottawa (personal delay).

Question: Should we go ahead and have him do a 2nd medical to submit with application (ie: submit both slips). My worry -- I don't want to confuse paperwork but I also don't want a delay in processing since his medical will for sure be past 1 year before a possible PR is granted.

Police checks in Kenya:
I see Purplenight's entries state they had problems with police checks in the application. I can't imagine the difficulty, however. Has anyone else had difficulty? My worry -- If my husband has lived in two places (ie: Mombasa & Malindi) should he be obtaining more than one police check?
