Good Afternoon everyone!!!

I'm also sponsoring my husband from Ethiopia and were use Kenya,Nairobi has our visa office. The receive my application for Feb 23,2015 with med done upfront.

they requested new information in June 2015 which was good since I had just come back from Ethiopia to visit him and his family.

now in on august 2, I took the day off from work for his interview....the told us to I should be available just in case they call me and he should bring his passport , police report, my passport copy pics etc.... he brought those with him to interview. the interview went well he said... the didn't call me and they told him they will call in back within one week. since that day no response or update on cic.gc.ca website........ I would love to talk to someone who has been in similar position.

i think the best think to do as at now is to send a case specific inquiry.

Hello people....so happy to see this thread. Nimetafuta sana....pheeeew! I'm quite new to this forum and I can say so far it's helped my anxiety a lot. Sponsoring my hubby, papers already in Nairobi. I just want to relate with others' experience thro Nairobi. Just hoping he'll be here by spring time. So hard to wait but wasee how long does it take once in Nairobi?

Karibu nyumbani. I am so excited to read your post. I think Nairobi is a bit fast now than before. There are applications that have taken between 3 & 5 months. I guess i could be so far by now if i had the police clearance with me for the dependent who just turned 18. You understand all the procedures of getting a clearance here and remember we had just applied for an ID which took forever......hadithi ya siku nyingine. We shall hopefully submit the clearance, passports and the photos next week. You may check my timelines hapo kando. I am being sponsored by my husband.

Karibu sharon I started process in february. Currently waiting on the passport to be returned its gonna be 2 months plus. Hoping for gd news in the fall. I think average time ive heard is 4 months to 9 months for sponsership for most recent applications. I have a few friends who have sponsered their wives and they are already here.

You've waited for your passport return for 2months!! Laaawwd! why? Have you called? I hope you get it soon dear. My application just got to Nairobi maybe 2weeks ago. For me patience is my 2nd name I'll wait. Nani a najua kama hao watu hapo Gigiri ni wakenya ama wazungu? but I just think Nairobi deals with a lot from diff countries. I pray for you Ca-Ke. Hopefully this September

My husband called and they were so harsh to him sijui vile wanaona ni mkenya mwenzao and then I spoke with someone initially that didnt wanna be helpful and basically didnt want to give me any info she just said call DHL to find out whether it was delivered and if your passport is ready we will contact you. I called 2 weeks later and they told me the file is underactive review still and theyll contact me once its ready. Basically subira huvuta kheiri
