Hello,

Yes, part of it was because my medicals expired. They would have returned my passport after a month, back in July, but they were going to give me 3 days to land...which I wasn't able to do at the time.

@Alwy, expect to wait for about a month.

I still haven't received my passport. I hope it comes soon though!

2 months??????????? :( :( :( :-\ :-\ :-\

Please Awmf2014, say this is because of the medicals? right? Heard someone saying it takes between 3-4 weeks from PPR to decision made, is that true?

Did you get your passport back? Am happy for you...can't imagine how happy you're going to be once you get hold of the passport...

All the best pals

Alwy and chipolo,

A). Were you in Canada when they mailed you back your passport from Nairobi?

B). After you received your passport , how did you "land "? Did you go to border an flagpole?

C). Did your 6 month Canadian TVP visa expire whole you were waiting so long?

D). When did you apply/receive your SIN number?

I did my application from the USA so I just drove to Canada abs landed at the peace bridge in Buffalo with my wife. I wasn't Living in Canada so I have no idea how the tvp visa works.
I do know you can flagpole by travelling to the USA and then driving back. If you don't have a visa for the USA , it's not an issue . The USA officer will just deny u entry and send you back to Canada where you will able to land.
Concerning the SIN, I applied a day after I landed and its issued to you on the spot. Just take your certificate of permanent residency and other id.

hi there, sorry i have not been on as much as i would like. so busy. Anyways i will try my best to pop in every time i can. for your answers :
1. It depends on the case. With me they requested everything they needed with the passport. They asked for a return label, proof of payment reciept, and also an updated schedule A form.(i made a mistake with dates on first on).

2. yes everyone is automatically issued a pr card when they land. Its part of the landing process. MIne took about 15 minutes. It will take about 6 weeks for you to receive it in the mail. I also apllied for my social insurance number same week i landed, and also got my drivers licence.( i just swappped since i already had a valid american licence)

as for your other question, my passport was in my hands 12days after decision made. I used fedex return label that i included when i sent passport

I totally understand you Chipolopolo. It's busy once you get here in Canada..somuch to be done.

Thanks for the infor.I'll have those in mind and tell my spouse about them when she gets back the passport and is on her way here.

Thanks again.

Simbamkubwa,

I'm sponsoring my spouse who is not in Canada with me yet. I haven't gotten the passport yet. We just got PPR and we just sent the passport.

Hoping to hear from them soon

Hope this helps.

I see. that makes sense. It was for your own benefit anyway.

'll give it about a month and hopefully get something on or before then.

Don't worry, it's coming very soon my dear. You'll get email notification from courier the moment they pick it up from the embassy

Good luck to everyone

Thanks so much.

I am trying to be grateful that we have gotten this far, but when you are close you get even more impatient. I know all assessments on my file have been completed, as there's a "decision made" on my Ecas, but I don't know why they haven't sent out the passport already.

I hope this doesn't mean in the future when you try and enter the US that you will have problems? And if you are ever asked if you were refused admission, you now have to say yes?
