My timeline: Filed app: dec 2014, file was transferred to niarobi in March 2015, Status changed to in-process about 2 weeks ago.

I really have to question this whole processing status. I notice some applicant were in processes in ages . Usually when an agent actually
opens an application it shouldn't take more than 3 month maximum to process and finalize unless there's something seriously wrong.
I know it's sometimes difficult to work with so many applications but i really think cic can do way better job than this.

Congrats Awmf.

Did they acknowledge receipt of your medicals?? What proof did you send them??

VO did not confirm receipt of medicals, but MP's office confirmed that for me last week.

They have stopped replying to my emails, but there's not much else for me to ask. I just have to be patient a little while longer

@Awmf2014, Congratulations. I have seen several applicants residing in Canada talk of how the MP's office helped. Can you clarify how the office is able to assist, and does it only assist citizen's who are principal applicants themselves or can it assist a citizen who's relative is applying as let's say an FSW?

Thanks.

Congratulations to Falmaata and samjj2 for the updates.

@ ohcanada15 Yes, Express Entry does help in expediting the process between application received and the time it is transferred from Canada to Nairobi VO for background and security check. After that it seems to slow back down. Not sure why this happens.

Processing time for nirobi visa office have changed from 23 months to 20 months today , so what does it means for applicants like me ?

If the sponsor is a Canadian citizen or PR residing in Canada, you can contact the relevant local MP for assistance.

Each MP's office is different. Some wait until the processing time for the VO has passed (i.e for Nairobi that would be 20 months), but others are glad to help provide information on the status of the application when the applicant/ sponsor would like more information. In my case, the MP's office has been very kind to look into my file when I was not getting a reply from the VO. It couldn't hurt to try, but don't expect them all to be helpful.

Awmf, once Nairobi received your passport, how long did it take for them to say "decision made" and stamp your passport?

Hi everyone. Finally I have received my wife interview date ( October 6 ) today from the visa office , good luck for all of us

Congratulation Falmata. you see? I told you, your notes were indicating clearly that all your process should be done before January 2016.I am happy for you really. did your wife receive a mail or an email?
Tell your wife to undersatnd mostly what's in her application, and especially to be able to defend what's really shows that your relationships is Guenuine.
