NAIROBI OUTLAND APPLICANTS 2014

Initially, I had applied on 2 September 2014 but due to a change in the IMM 008 form, CIC had requested for an updated one and we have sent it on 14 October 2014.

My ecas currently shows these 3 lines

We have received your application on 14 October 2014.
Medical has been received.
We started processing your application on 3 March 2015.

I am eagerly waiting for the last line “We have made a decision in respect of your application”. Don't know the exact phrase: P

Thanks for sharing Acecube. Happy for you. Hope the final line comes up soon!!!!! They will request the passport first I believe. Hope you get that soon.

My application was transferred two months plus but does not show anything on ecas Only says they received the application. Does not say that they got the medicals when I we did the medicals upfront

I'm a new poster but have been following this thread to see how everyone is moving along in Nairobi...I am sponsoring my husband from Tanzania....application filed Dec 4, transferred to Nairobi March 2 and just this week our application has changed to "In process" since May 21!! This seems like good news, any timelines on when you will hear from after they have started processing?? Fingers crossed the passport request comes soon!!! Finally some movement

Congratulation.you didn't receive any email asking you passport?If not I belive it should be soon.but m not sure whn for Tanzanians.what I know for some people it's the same week they get the change the same week they receive the email.

If you don't mind me asking you, what does your ecas show? Do you remember when it showed that medicals have been received?( If that is one of the things in your ecas.

Thanks In ecas, it showed application received and medicals received at the same time as we submitted them upfront. And the they just added under that they started processing on May 21

Hi everyone...had a very discouraging meeting with my MP and wanted to hear everyone's thoughts...

Before she looked at anything with my application she told me I should expect a processing time of the current posted time of 22 months. She called and got a status update, which just told me what ecas says basically- that they started processing but haven't done the security check and that they should have or will be sending the passport request (with prepaid courier) soon. I told her it was my understanding that after the passport request that means you are basically approved and will get the passport back usually within about a month. She told me I was wrong and they would hold it for the rest of the processing time aka about 19 months?!?

I honestly feel like this lady doesn't really know what she's talking about and just has to say the longer processing time to be "safe" BUT was wondering if anyone here has actually heard of anyone actually taking the processing time that the website says and if anyone has heard of the VO holding the passport for so long and not sending it back within a month or two??

I had such high hopes after seeing our application change to "in process" and this lady has crushed my dreams, someone please tell me there is still hope?!

Hello,

Most passports that we know of through this forum are held up to six weeks. However, I know of some cases when they held the passport for a year or more, so it depends on your application. Your MP is not necessarily wrong, but I hope that once you submit your spouse submits their passport, they get their passport back with the visa in good time!

I WAS TOLD SAME THING, BUT GOT MY PASSPORT WITH VISA BACK 3 WEEKS LATER. THE MP WILL NOT TELL YOU HOW SOON IT COMES. THEY WILL ALWAYS QUOTE THE PROCESSING TIMES. EVEN MY LAWYER THAT I APPLIED THROUGH TOLD ME 2 YEARS BUT I GOT MY APPLICATION DONE IN JUST UNDER 6 MONTHS. DONT WORRY STAY POSITIVE. IF THEY TOLD YOU SAY IT WILL BE READY IN 3 WEEKS THEN ITS NOT THEY CAN BE LIABLE FOR MISINFORMING YOU SO THEY WILL ALWAYS TELL U MAXIMUM TIME

Well my husband got the PPR today so I guess we will find out soon so hoping it goes smoothly and we get it back within the next month!!
