Hello Nairobi members,
Am due for interview late October and i feel abit scared due to some issues that iam aware of in my application. Our marriage is genuine and we are married happy waiting to be together soon if God allows. I have read so many think on this forum that i ended reflecting on our applications.
Briefly, we have age difference of 16years my husband older, he is divorced 1 child, i have never been married before but i have 2 children from 2 difference relationship (i was a single mother before marrying my husband), we met online and got married after 5months, we come from different countries both in East Africa, he visited my country for few days and later we went to his country, at our Civil marriage i had only 2 friends who attended but most of his relatives/friends were there at our marriage and reception.
However, i have prints of our all our chats of the dating site, many emails, western union receipts, many photos of our relationship, marriage & honeymoon together, viber call history, whatsapp text message history, skype calls, boarding passes, his divorce certificate, our marriage certificate e.t.c
Members please advise, what can i do to show the visa officer on our interview that my marriage is genuine and we are truely in love.

Hello guys, if the embassy hold your passport after interview does that means they will issue a visa? My wife attended interview on september 12 and they kept her passport and she was told she will here from them. Thanks in advance

Hope all is well with you. Hmmmmm Nairobi thread is silent now days. Am just inquiring to know if any of you could be knowing about the situation in Nairobi, Kenya?? Is the Canada Embassy still closed or they have resumed work?? Please update me because its closure has affected my interview that was cancelled due to terrorist attacks.
Am praying everyday that life comes to normal so that visa officers continue with their schedule.

Since our Embassy is still closed, thats an indication that there will be delays in processing our files. And some of us waiting for the interview, only God knows when it will be held. But it seems Nairobi city has resumed business as usual so i wonder why our embassy cannot open..... this is really testing our patience.

I received a email from the Nairobi office since the WestGate Terror so I think they are there. I also think they lost 1 person at the mall and are morning the loss.
Me I am well and my wife and daughter are just waiting for visas. They asked for my wife's ppt and we applied for my daughters Canadian citenzship so they can give her a facilitation visa. We are close!!!

Canadian High Commission in Nairobi can be quiet, but they are working. If you think it is taking too long, send them an email. But do not send one and another shortly afterwards.

In the meantime, I have a question: My wife, a Canadian PR has sponsored me from within Canada. I'm also in Canada on visitor visa, but consider that it will take a shorter time to get PR with outland application (inside Canada it takes a whole year just for initial assessment). Would you advise me to withdraw this application and file another when I'm in Kenya?

[if you are in Canada you are figg'n so lucky and blessed! Don't leave and keep asking for extension while you wait for your PRV. You are lucky you got in on a TRV!!!!

The period of national mourning must be over now.
Websites do not always get updated in time. Keeping nudging them a little. They must be working, although with a bit of backlog to handle after that stoppage.

I can't get my wife out until our daughter gets a regristration number for Canadian citizenship. Nairobi forward our application to Tanzania for them to authentic her Tanzania birth certificate before it goes to Australia Urrrrggg. So Nairobi is still doing business.

Thanks for your concern about my interview cancellation. Am still positive and hopefull that October will bring good news for me.
As for your case, i understand what it means to read so much on this forum but please do not judge yourself. I believe every relationship is unique in its own way and you are not the first person to have such read flags. I remember of a friend who had divorced twice with 4 children and an age difference was interviewed last year but got her application approved.
STOP thinking negatively even before the day because what you need is to relax your mind, believe in your relationship and pray.

Thanks for this information, at least it confirms that our Visa office is open and working normal.
Now this keeps me hopeful that soon they will fix for me another date soon. Good luck too!
