Hoping to connect to applicants going through the Nairobi office. Reading all these posts is encouraging. I look forward to talking to those in the process from Nairobi right now and sharing our experiences. Anyone?

Hi Aquaviva21,

When did you apply? Have you already left the country. Last I checked the Nairobi embassy only serves on Thursdays, so, if they ask for my passport say on a Monday would I have to wait until Thursday to take it there or can I take it any day? This whole thing is driving me crazy. The only comfort is knowing that my husband is worth the wait. I wish you all the best. Do let me know what is happening on your side.

Hey Camelboy,

All the best to you. Our experience with the Nairobi office is limited to two denied visitor visas. The PRV we applied for via Mississauga so I haven't had any experience with them yet. But the applicants from last year and end of 2011 seem to have all taken 8-10months with an exception of one who took 3 months 19days. Below is our timeline:

My husband (also my sponsor) and I applied November 5th, the application was received in Mississauga centre on 8th November, he was approved as a sponsor on 5th December, and then the next day (6th) they indicated they had gotten my medical results (medicals done 28th and 29th August 2012). Since then they have kept mum. We don't know whether the file transfer to Nairobi, Kenya has been done.

Keeping fingers crossed. Good luck.

Thanks for the update, are you receiving updates and notifications via email or mail?

My husband got the notifications via emails. But those were notifications relevant to the sponsor and Mississauga office. I think the Nairobi office will communicate to me. Have you decided when you want to apply?

hi, i'm from mauritius and i send my documnets to mississauga in november 2012 here is my timeline

documents send on the 3oth november 2012
spousal sponsorship approved on the 5th november 2012
file transfer to nairobi 5th november 2012
nairobi file in process 3rd january 2013

i really hope that i will get a good reply soon, really Nairobi is going very fast

Wow Sheik,

I see your documents were processed very fast from the day you sent them to file transfer (3days). Question: Did Nairobi office update your status and show that they are processing the file?? I hope it goes fast all the way. Do keep us posted on what is happening coz if they are processing yours right now you are more likely to hear from them first and give us a current update on their actions/ requirements.

just got passport request, its actually very very fast, did not expect that much.yes th for nairobiey do update my ecas just twice, one decision made for sponsorship and second in progress from nairobi, thats all and they send me email for sponsorship approved and for passport request.
i actually want to know what address to send the passport by courier to nairobi , if anyone could please help.All the best to all Nairobi applicant, truly Nairobi is fast these days

I am happy for you. That was very fast. I hope the same speed applies to us. Below is the mailing address to the Canada Immigration section Nairobi. If you can get a courier that will let you know when the package is delivered that will be great coz CIC may take lots of time before acknowledging receipt.

thanks darrppy78, the passport has already been delivered , just do not know how much time they will take to return. by the way, where will you be landing?? i will be landing in Toronto and if you or anyone have an idea about jobs overthere, please let me know. i'm in the bakery field and would like to find a job in same filed or another that will be ok. if anyone could help

Thank you for your information that you post your experience in this forum, it is really helpful, I just want to ask you since you are already families with the processing.
I am sponsoring my son and daughter, I applied on October 11 I have received email on Nov 16, 2012. says I have met the requirements for eligibility, and forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing, which is in Nairobi. when i check online says We received XXXXXX application for permanent residence on October 11, 2012. Medical results have been received. I do not know if Nairobi get my application or not, what should i do, how long should I wait before i contact Nairobi office, and if they said medical result have been received, how long do you think it will take.
