Hello Friends ,

I had submitted my e-APR on Jan 22 2017 and received CoPr on March 31st 2017. Since people ask a lot of question here regarding work experience letters , work history vs personal history ..I thought i will share my experience.
From my experience I can say that you only need to provide proof for the work experience that you are claiming points for. If your work experience letter is not detailed enough , provide as many documents as you can to prove the nature of work you did. Make sure that you organize them in a single document (for each employment) and provide a cover letter in the beginning of the document.

Proof of Funds –It is not required for CEC. Still I included copies of my bank statements (obtained from local branch).

Foreign work experience: I had 3.5 yrs of work experience but claimed only 1.5 yrs. (I had worked with 3 different companies in India and I could not obtain work experience letters from two employers (in CIC required format). I included it in personal history and left a note in the Letter of Explanation).

The letter was issued on company’s official letter head. Since it did not had a detailed description on my duties and responsibilities, I included an “email” from my former manager describing duties and responsibilities. I also provided copies of original offer letter, confirmation letter , relieving letter , performance appreciation letters, award statements I received. I scanned all these as a single pdf and included a cover letter explaining my situation. I guess that worked.


Canadian Work experience
I was able to get a letter from my manager describing duties and responsibilities and a letter from HR manager that included my joining date , hours per week , salary etc. I also included copies of recent pay slips, T4 and NOA from CRA. The letters were issued on company’s official letterhead.

Hi,

I have a question regarding the employment letter. I have received my employment letter signed by the HR adviser on company letter head. Is it sufficient?. Does it have to be from the Head of HR department? Name of my supervisors are mentioned on the letter but their signatures are not provided.

Dear All,

If the reference or experience letter does not include job responsibilities, then can we upload the official Job Description (JD) document which is signed by employee, supervisor, HR Manager and HR Head? This document is controlled document which is stamped as "controlled document" being official JD but not on the letter head of the organization.

Hello

I got the reference letter from my current employer which is dated 1st March'2017. I will be submitting my EE application in the first week of May'2017. Is this ok?

I continue to work at the same employer.

I don't think there should be any issue.

Thanks a lot for such informative thread.

I have a couple of queries of my own:-

1. My job role span across multiple NOC codes, but for the sake of EE I chose the one which overlaps the most. Now in the reference letter should I mention only the responsibilities related to that Noc or all my responsibilities?

2. Also, I held two designations (with somewhat similar responsibilities) at an employer, should I mention both of them in the same letter or get two different letters?

3. Should I attach other documents like ( joining letter, promotion letter, relieving letter etc) in Single PDF for each employment or the Experience letter in CIC format will suffice?

However, I have done one mistake related to job reference letter. As our HR dont give Job reference letter on letterhead, I took this letter from my senior on stamp paper. At the end of the job reference letter on stamp paper, it is mentioned by senior as :
"Statutory declaration: This letter is given in my personal capacity to xxxxx. This is not on be half of xxxxx(company name)"
Is it ok to add this declaration or not?
Kindly suggest.

Better to remove.. why do you want to increase complexity by adding extra lines. It's a mere reference document for your employment and nobody is going to file a lawsuit using it.

Dear Mr Stanlee,
I am from Pakistan and I have the same reference letter as you described in this post. I have working experience of two years in the UK, however I did this work on study visa during my MBA in UK where I was legally allowed to work 20 Hours per week but I was working more than 30 hours per week and it is mentioned on my reference letter as well along with other details. Can this create a problem for me?. Will they be checking or asking about my visa status or visa proof for Uk. Please advice whether to include this experience or not. Anyway I have one year working experience in my current job to qualify for EE profile. My IELTS score is L: 8, R :7 W: 7, S: 7.5 and my age is 29.
Would be grateful for a prompt response.

I contacted my manager first and requested him to provide a letter (I showed him the format). My manager refused to give me the letter (because he said he is not authorized to provide such a letter). I then e-mailed the HR and asked them to provide such a letter on the letterhead! I pursued them for 3 full weeks but to no avail.

I got the letter from the HR in the standard format of the company (It mentions only my name, date of joining, designation and employee ID). Then, I got the letter from a senior colleague in the required format in a plain paper. I suggest all applicants to get this letter notarized. To sum up, I submitted the following documents to OINP -

1) Letter of explanation for reference letter
2) Copy of the Standard format of the company’s letter
3) Reference letter(with all necessary details) by a senior colleague
4) Copy of the senior colleague's company ID card
5) Copy of Email – 1 from the HR
6) Copy of Email – 2 from HR
7) Copy of the company’s HR policy
8 ) Copy of pay scale letter for 2015
9) Copy of pay scale letter for 2014
10) Copy of the pay slips for the past 6 months
11) Copy of appointment letter [joining letter]
12) Copy of initial job offer letter


Luckily, my application was accepted by OINP and I got my AOR. As you can see, I cannot provide any more documentation to prove my work - I had submitted ALL the documents that I had.

So, if your letter is not on the letterhead, you can just go ahead and submit a letter from your supervisor/colleague & get it notarized. Please note that the name, phone number, official E-mail ID and the designation of the person giving the reference MUST be mentioned on the letter. If you provide comprehensive documentation, it is likely that OINP/CIC will be satisfied and proceed with your application.

Brother,i got all the details on company letter head.Problem is my company mentioned only 4 job duties in short as per noc out of 9.Will that be a problem? I have submitted my application to ontario!! I have attached all the documents i have related to employment!! Please reply!

Is it mandatory to get experience letters with job duties from current employer also even if I have 8 years of experience in my NOC from previous employers? my understanding is we get points for only 6 years of experience. So if I can show my 6+ years experience from previous employers, will that be sufficient? Thanks

Hello Seniors!
My employment details are as follow!!
31st March,2014-30th March,2015 (Graduate engineer Trainee)
31st March,2015-30th September,2016 (Engineer)
1st October,2016-Till date (Sr.Engineer)
My question is can i write job responsibilities together of these 3 years as my company and nature of job is same?? Not designation wise!!

Please suggest!!

You will get the maximum points for 3 years. So even if you show three years that will be fine.

Also 67 points for FSW eligibility needs to accounted for where 6 years give maximum points.
