We made sure we had duplicates of anything we might want to keep, so if they keep it there is no problem. Though the extra pics back would be nice.

We have duplicates of everything as well. It would be nice to get the marriage certificate back though.

Well I certainly didn't intend to become the topic of any conversation. I'm merely the messenger. Thank you to those that share the same conclusions and sense of humour. Though it doesn't reflect why there are so many minuses beside my name..... :o :o :o. Maybe they are all gifts from Parker.....
Steph, Scos, Goonerclank, Lucky, Tagum and everyone else from the English Manila thread have spent a great deal of time trying to find the formula that makes CIC do what they do. Not only as a means to help ourselves but to help others in the same situation. By my nature I am proactive and a fighter. If you are getting burned by the flames of a fire some may chose to fan the heat away; I opt to piss on the coals. In this case what do you lose? You run the risk that they are going to delay your process more than it already has been nor you draw attention that they have neglected to provide you the service for which you have paid well in advance for.

My wife received her visa 24 hours after my last email. She will be landing on the 15th of June around 4pm and eating my delicious cooking when she arrives in Winnipeg at 1 am Sunday morning. That is of course if she doesn't go crazy at the Starbucks in Vancouver Airport.

I fully appreciate that my personality is not for everybody. I'm not a bad guy but I can come across like a fart in a crowded elevator...momentarily unpleasant but thankful that it wasn't anything worse....

Hey CJP, Congratulations, I just read that your wife is finally coming.
As for you being a bad guy I guess those who judged you as such are living in a far off world.
When I had my great mail delay for my package you without owing me or knowing me went out of your way to try to locate my package and all these happened through PM's as you wouldn't take any credit.. Thank you my friend.

Wishing you a great life with your wife!

Cheers

Thanks Tom. It was my pleasure.

I know if u go to get your visa in person sometimes they will give you back your evidence.

Congrats on your husband landing!

I went to get my visa in person, and I got some evidence back. We got back some print outs of our interactions on LiveJournal, and part of our Skype logs... I think that's it? Didn't get email evidence, photos, certificates or anything else back. I would say, all in all, we got 1/5 back only. I personally don't mind, since I have originals for everything we sent (and a nice digital copy of the whole final package).

By the way, I'm one of those for whom emailing the office worked. I emailed them on Thursday to inform them of my pregnancy, and they called on Friday to tell me if I wanted I could get my visa right away :o
From the call, I got the impression that they either hadn't opened my file at all until I emailed them, OR they had looked at it before, decided I could be granted the PR... but never actually contacted me to let me know; like they were waiting for me to be closer to the official timelines or something. So, I'm really glad I emailed them, for now I'm a landed resident and my baby will be born in Canada :)

Fantastic news...both for your visa and of course bringing another Canadian into the world.
