I noticed today that IRCC have changed the appearance of the MyCIC screen showing your applications status.
Nothing is different to the categories or the statuses that say In progress or Open or Closed…. but to the right there is a blue question mark you can click for an explanation of what your status means.

In the past, these open a dialogue box and list the possible statuses and what they mean,
Such as

DOCUMENT REQUEST
Not needed: Explanation.
Received: Explanation.
Provided: Explanation.

Today I am seeing when I click on the question mark it displays on the explanation of my current status
So where I click on Document Request it reads….

Provided and the explanation only.

When I clicked on Final Decision Which status says "Not started"

The explanation reads:

FINAL DECISION.
We have reached a final decision on your application.
If your application is approved, we will send you instructions on what to do next.
These instructions will be sent to your account.
If your application is refused, we will send you the reason(s) for the refusal.

To anyone still in process not approved with no requests for passports etc…. would you go into myCIC accounts and click on the final decision blue question mark and see if what pops up matches what I saw.

It's either in everyones account or maybe (just maybe) they took their decision on mine and the status line just hasn't updated fully yet.

It is quite bizarre though

this is just an explanation and everyone see this. This is a definition of what final decision means.

Sometimes I really wonder how people have come this far and still do not understand such basic things...

That's what it was before… and it gave all the options.
It never read the words "We have received a final decision on your application", before it listed the options and explained them without this sentence. I did think it was just a new general wording that they put up. Thanks for confirming that.

Your comment is unhelpful.
I did not ask for an opinion on how unintelligent I am.

There are no stupid questions.

Because not everyone is as smart as you.
The purpose of this forum is to help others. Lets not be judgmental.

I guess this is specifically your concern. It looks like a glitch, if you ask me. This info pop-up has been buggy from the start.
I think the status is still more reliable than the pop-up.

Agreed.

It reminds me of when I worked for a company that used a big system and if we updated a file when you would check customer notes… the file was always marked updated the following day updated at 3am- we used to have to manually enter notes in observations stating the time we did something as a result of this glitch.

I take it then in your MyCIC it says something different when you click your question mark?

^ I haven't checked my account for a while, but when I did check it for Final Decision last time, it explained each status by item, Not Started, Approved, Refused, or something like that.

There is also a common case of temporary resident applications on MyCIC getting instructions for work permits when they click on the blue icon, so yeah, glitchy info. :)

I should mention, the morning after noticing this change… I received the PPR email….

…so maybe it is a tell!

Who knows.
