I have issues linking my parents PGP application to my MyCIC. I use UCI and application number and also give the same answers to where they intend to reside as per the application but it fails to find the application and after 5 times locks me out for 24 hours.

Anyone had success with this?

I tried for my friend.

I mailed to questions@cic.gc.ca and they request to fill out some form.
call agents do not know what to do.
so I gave up.

I found some of members have same issue and no one successfully linked their file to CIC account.

i have the same problem. can't link the application of my father to his account nor to mine as i am his representative

the call centre guy knew even less than i do and was no help at all

send them an email and waiting for a reply (if i get any)

Link your application with PA information . Keep passport information blank (do not fill them ), in the last question ( i think that it is about the number of person to be sponsored enter number 2 ). This the best way to link your application to the My CIC

Did it work for you? What sort of application you linked?
What is PA information?

At last I could LINK the applications SUCCESSFULLY!

Here are the points:

- You just need a MyCIC account (any kind). It doesn't need to be related to the applications. Names don't have to match.

- At least applications that are passed SA (sponsor approval) can be linked. I had two applications for my parents and my in-laws and could link both. One of them was forwarded to LVO and had received IME and the other was sent to LVO then back to Ottawa and no IME or anything so far.

- Maybe applications earlier than SA can be linked however I am not sure as mines were both pass SA.

- Enter the detail of your main applicant parent. It cannot link to the spouse of the main applicant. So if the main applicant is your father, your mother's detail won't work.

- I used "Family name" and "UCI" for it to work. The other times I used UCI and App# but didn't work.

- Left "Place of birth" empty

- Entered Passport Information accurately

- "Where does the applicant intend to live in Canada?" should match IMM0008(11-2015)E question 5 (where do you intend to live in Canada).

- "Number of ..." should match IMM5768 (Financial Evaluation) box #7 (Total numbber fo persons for the purpose of ...).

I did this everything correct but could not succeed.

I have been trying for months and STILL cannot link either with my UCI nor with my husband's UCI. Have tried every combination.

In place of birth, click on the space bouton and let it blank

Karimov, thanks so much for that information, I did it like you and finally it worked for me ! I tried now for weeks linking my application without success but today I finally got it to work :) I only used my UCI and Family Name and clicked the space button under `city of birth`. By the looks of it cic begun the review of my background information since its `in progress`. Does that mean its a positive sign for our Sponsor Approval ? Thanks again and best wishes to all of you.

That did not work for me. When i did that it asked me to choose a country.

folks, what if the passport for my mother expires in 2041? The system allows it up to the year 2040...
Can I not put the information about the passport at all?

I was able to link the application without even getting SA

I have used the following combination for number of people: me, my wife(co-signer), my child + people being sponsored (my father and mother)
ideally it should be 5 but the system did not link the application however when I entered 4, it accepted it.
I suppose my child is being excluded.

I hope this helps for other people who are trying to link their application

Did you end up getting a reply from them giving you details of what to do? Just came across the same issue today when I set up a new account and tried to link an old application.

This worked for me:
