They have difficulty obtaining visas from various countries like US, UK, Australia, etc. You will have difficulty inviting them to visit you for the foreseeable future unless they are able to prove extremely strong ties to their home country and that your asylum claim was only specific to you and not the country/family. Where are they from?
Yes claiming asylum has to be the last option really. Other countries will assume your family members will also file for asylum. You can eventually sponsor your parents to become PRs. You should look into the PGP program although you are far way from qualifying for that program. You need to focus on your asylum claim first. You can also meet them in a country other than Iran using a refugee travel document. You should never use your passport from Iran or renew it.Y our parents can try to get a visa but I would wait for many years.
It's a very unfortunate situation. My case is LGBT so I thought they might not cancel it because it's specific to me. Can I sponser them when I am a citizen or a PR?
Your chances are better for a Canadian visa then but not sure that other countries can see the reasons you filed for asylum. Your family can always include your reasons for asylum in their visa applications. Yes you can eventually apply to sponsor your parents if as a PR or citizen you (and a partner if the co-sign) meet the minimum income for 3 years except in Quebec who has different rules. You become responsible financially for them for 20 years. If you want more details google PGP. You can also look up RTD to find out where you could meet your family. The whole asylum process is very long so pace yourself, try to find a job, get involved in the community around you and the transition will be easier.
Did I say that the visas had been cancelled 100%. Yes family members visas are cancelled or refused if family members have claimed asylum. Happens all the time. Various countries especially the "5 Eyes" share information. In this case the parents don't seem to qualify for asylum so have no rush to visit their son who has just arrived in Canada. When family members of asylum seekers apply to travel to Canada there is natural concern that they will file for asylum as well. Canada and many other countries want to prevent asylum seekers from entering their countries. As I previously mentioned by explaining why the son needed asylum as well as their strong ties to Iran, assets and travel history their chances at a visa are much better. With any temporary visa Canada wants you to prove why you will not remain in Canada.

Nope, even if they have their visa stamp in their passport, this can be cancelled at any time from Canada including on the airport itself.
Being his family makes them a perfect target in his absence, so there is certainly higher chance that his family member will claim asylum as well.
Unfortunately, that logic is valid in any type of asylum claim. That is why there is a risk of visa cancelation or rejection on entry.
Secondly you are advising them to commit a fraud and misinterpretation. One of the things that some countries do check (at least when it comes to Canada, USA, UK, Australia, NZ, EU or Japan) are any previous visa rejections. So with such advice they might end up with a misinterpretation on the top.
You do not think countries exchange information between each other? Of course they do. The o/p came under the premise as attending university. He applied, got a student visa, and then applied for refugee status once he got here. What do you think immigration is going to think his parents are going to do ? Do you actually think immigration will let his parents any way near Canada? Of course not. It is you bud that is giving the o/p hope, but the chances his parents visa is still valid is slim to none. As for the other 5 eye countries, they work in unison in exchanging information about people. As well when people from Iran complain about how long it takes for their visas to be approved, Why do you think that is? Because of people applying for a student visa to gain access to claim refugee status.
