Hi, let me answer your question one by one.

1. do we have to prepare 2 seprate list as one for what goods we are carrying with and what goods will be coming with my family later on?? As far as my experience is concerned, i also prepared a list of goods which i was having with me (i did not have any goods to follow so i did not have any such list) but the customs official said he don't want to see it and released me without searching my baggage. You can prepare a list to remain on the safe side and if you have goods to follow then prepare that list.

2. In PR card application form, do we need to fill details of our last 5 years experience and education again?? There is no such thing called the PR Card application form. All you have to show them is your original COPR (which they will ask you to sign) and the immigration card which they will distribute in the plane, your passport and that's it. They will send the PR card as well the SIN Card by mail on the Canadian address which you will provide to them.

hi guys,

a quick question, is there any Service Canada counter at Vancouver International Airport for making SIN cards, thanks

Dear Friends,

I am planning to fly into USA and enter canada from buffalo. Can any one suggest the feasible way to reach USA border from buffalo airport with children and luggage. Taxi might be very expensive, what about rental cars, shuttle etc

Regards,

What is the specification of Photographs for PR card?? Is it same as the one we used for FSW application ??

Yes

Dear RNSS,

Try Rental Car, you may need credit card for that though. But this looks to be the best option.

Otherwise, try looking up Buffalo airport, and see what kind of services they have from the airport, such as out-of-town cars, charters, etc.
Maybe there is a bus service to Niagara from there.

Taxi will only take you as far as the border @ Niagara Falls, I don't think the taxi will want to go into Canada.......

There is Coach Canada/Greyhound service between (USA)NY and Canada(niagara) and Toronto......so check them also.

Also search websites such as Kijiji or Craigslist for Niagara/Buffalo area and see if anyone offers transportation services with van, etc..

Hi Guys,

Please clarify that what is the best mode of Proof of Landing Funds ???

DD or
TC or
Cash

Those who have landed or planning to land, please answer.

From which bank (in India ) should DD be made and is it confirmed that we can use DD for POF ??

Hi Guys,

I am travelling in few days and my spouse and children will accompany me later after 4-5 months. I have a question regarding POF's..

My consultant told me that I can carry upto $11500 CAD as of now as I am travelling alone.
So guys plz let me know is it enough to carry $11500 CAD as of now. I read somewhere that I need to carry all the funds as we are a family of 4, I need to carry $20,599 CAD.

Yes, all the funds according to family size.....

Dear Friend,

Thnx for your response. I need a suggestion from you.

I am planning to visit Toronto in May 2014 and then go to USA with family after 7 days to spend good time in Disney Land etc. I will return to home country after 1 month. The PR cards will be brought to us by hand in USA by my sister in Canada. Please advise upon following queries in my mind;

1. Will I be permitted to leave canada by road without having a PR Card ?

2. Which is the cheapest option to take POF other than cash. I plan to take the travelers cheque or DD as proof of funds but bring it back upon on return journey because I will settle permanently in Toronto in 2015 due to pending immigration of my father. Can there be any complication in such arrangement?

3. What could be the benefit of opening a bank account, mobile sim, credit card, property purchases etc while I will be out of canada for 1 year?

Please advise if you have any knowledge as I have only few weeks to complete all arrangements.

Regards

1. No problem to leave Canada, as long as you have visa/passport/documents for the destination country.....

2. No implications, it should be ok. But have some cash in case of some basic expenses while in Canada....so you're not totally dependent on others(sister's family).....

3. You can apply for SIN Card, etc while in Canada, the SIN card will be mailed to Cdn address.
Rest of the things are not needed such as banking, it can be done later when you return permanently. Right now you'd be losing money on bank charges by having it open while being absent.....
